Is it possible to program text tags for a specific Trunked, Group ID bank. I managed to get my individiual group ID's, however the third line still reads "Bank 1 Ch 08" etc. TIA...

yes, press pgm then trunk the ID will appear, then press text and then put in the correct text for that specific talkgroup, hope this helps.

The third line is the frequency alpha tag. The default is the bank and channel number, which is what you are seeing. Lots of people use the Site ID for those alpha tags on Trunked Systems.

Already got the individual text tags mastered. My thing is that I want to tag the group ID bank. When my scanner stops on a talkgroup, my scanner displays the data and frequency on the first and second lines, then the third says "Bank 1 Ch 08" or whatever spot the frequency is at, and the forth line is the text tag for the individual TG that I put in. I want to change that third line with some sort of Bank tag, or a sub bank text tag. Possible?

Okay, I guess we were posting at the same time. There is no ID Bank tag in the radio. So, in answer to your question, no you can't. When scanning a trunked system, and activity happens, the second line is the voice frequency, the third line is the aplpha tag for the control channel. As I said if you change that from the default to the site location you will know what site you are getting the transmission from.

The saem way you change any frequency alpha tag. Don't you tag your conventional type frequencies? Do the same to the trunked.

PERFECT!!! Exactly what I was looking for!!! Thanks a ton guys, I have had this thing three days and poured over the manual and couldnt figure that out. I have a BC796D and things are much different on that unit. I appreciate all the help!!!
