You had just 3 low VHF conventional frequencies programmed. Lake County uses the Ohio MARCS statewide trunked system. It has to be programmed as a Motorola system. You had it programmed as Not Trunked. You have to enter the red control channel and blue alternate 800 MHz frequencies for Lake County into the site and enter the TGID (talkgroup ID) and alpha tag for each talkgroup. Here is the link to the trunked system:

I had 3 conventional frequencies programed in the 1st bank. Those are the FD dispatch freqs. I had the other 4 banks programed as Fm/P25 With the appropriate freqs. and TGIDs in the appropriate areas. These are screen shots on how I have it set up. Do I have it wrong?

In the Mode column of the trunked system frequencies, I believe that the FM/P25 only applies to conventional frequencies. In my file, the mode is Motorola since the frequencies are used in a trunked system. Also, you only need the control channel and alternate frequencies. Try changing the mode of the frequencies in the trunked systems to Motorola and see if it works. If you have a problem with the audio breaking up or being garbled, remove the cover and adjust VR4 for the best P25 decode. It is marked on the circuit board.

I will give that a try tonight and let you know how it works. Thank you very much for the help!

Thanks for your reply! I did the "Pgm" "func" then #7 trick. that changed the display, but then it appears you would have to enter each display manually. Is that correct? I have the trial version of ARC96. How does that do the same thing? Thanks again.
That bottom line is a description of the BANK. You can't make it show the revolving talkgroup data. Those talkgroups (text) can be edited by pushing Prm-trunk, then text and changing the text for talkgroups in that section.

1st Photo- the MOT should be selected above for EACH frequency you entered. AS others said. YOU only need the Control channel and the alternates, not all freqs of a P25 system. Someone mentioned the FM/P25 listing... THAT would apply to individual frequencies that are conventional P25 frequenices. You leave those to FM on the MODE. Like here in Chicago... FIRE is on a P25 Conventional 477.0000 something or other. Those you set to FM/P25. Photo 2 - Same thing. All those talkgroups should be set to MOT cause that's what they are. Photo 3 I can't see anything wrong* unless a custom setup is needed for your System. Photo 4- looks normal. Someone mentioned the VR4 screw turn. That worked great on my OLD Pro96. You also should say what firmware the scanner has. 1.3? U1.4? which was the last. Those dealt with simulcast systems. If you have one that only has 1.2 or the original firware still? you'd have to go update to U1.4 from the Pro96 wiki-pages where they still have that download listed.

In the "setting" tab of each of the trunked systems, could you tell me what the box"Trunk Settings are for, specifically the "Motorola Fleet map settings"?

Thanks again for the reply. I have made the corrections that were mentioned. I updated to DSP 1.4 firmware. do any of the other items in the firmware screen get updated? They currently show cpu: f1.3, dsp - voc is f1.0.. Things are getting much better. The fleet map was required with older radio systems. You can ignore it. If you have garbled audio, turning off the digital AGC can help. That is why I turned it off in my file.

The VR4 adjustment was on the Pro-96. I don't know if it is the same on the Pro-2096. Johnnydollar2 thanks for jumping in and giving me a hand. I don't have a Pro-96 and is has been years since I programmed one.

As I worked for Radio Shack for 8 years and sold bunches of pro96 and own both a 96, 2096 and a GRE PSR500 win96 from don star at starsoft is
my preferred programming software. save your base stock program in a file then you can change your V folders to what you want each V folder
will change the entire scanner not just one bank. Configure scanner save to V folder configure it another way put it in a different V folder. I use Dons 96com to see the local towers and traffic.
