Will any of the software out there actualy tune the radio. Everything I've tried either reads or writes to the memory only.
Thanks

Scan Control (full version) will. It even has a data grabber now, so you can copy/paste directly into the editor from the database.

Remember SC has its own Yahoo group for support. Don't be shy about asking - the editor is klunky and not that intuitive, but it does work. I really wish Ken would make it more Excel like...73s Mike

I know Gommert from Butel was making an "ARC" version for the PRO-2052. I was holding out for that, but I don't know if demand was great enough.

Maybe we can get him to finish the project. I'd love to see a Butel solution to the PRO-2052.

trimmerj,
I have been goofing around writing some stuff for my 2052. What are you looking for?

This is one of Gommerts "projects" that turned me off to his business, it seems like it's been ten years he's "been working on it", I waited and waited and still waiting... well actually I gave up on him 2007....

As for what I'd like to see in 2052, first off something capable of utilizing all the scanners capabilities and not "just programming" software that also has a nice look and feel to it.

ScanControl in Remote displays tags for freqs and talkgroups. It'll log all data and you can run Live feeds and record.

Like I said, I want something that looks good and is fully functional, and from my experiance scan control failes miserably in the first and isn't completely functional with all of the 2052 commands and features.... but then it like most software is made for the Unidens, the 2052 was "thrown in" as an after thought, not the primary scanner. I also think it's over priced for the 2052 limited control, there isn't even a 2052 replica to use for controling the radio, which I consider one of the nice things about dedicated software for the 2052 and not having to look up at the scanner for the display.

Specifically what features are you looking for? Functionality might be limited to the commands available to/from the scanner. Take a look here It lists the basic protocols for many of the older Uniden scanners, including the 2052 (which really was a Uniden in a GRE box...)

[edit] Oh and by the way, Ken does respond to feature requests - I doubt he'd want to put a 2052 'replica' up (to me that's not all that important, frankly) - on the Scan Control Yahoo group.
