You could use Unitrunker, or regular trunker if the system is a 3600bps system.

Pro96Com will only work on 9600bps systems. Is the system you are trying to monitor a 9600bps P25 system?

Be sure to set the scanner on an active 9600 baud control channel, and put the scanner in the proper mode:

ie: PGM, FUNC, PGM, PGM

Then you need to click on the box: Data Read from Pro-96

Also, are you using an RS232 cable, or are you attempting to use a USB-to-RS232 adapter. Some will not work.

Under Configuration Settings / General Configuration, did you set your COM port?

If you have a fast computer, try setting the Latency lower. If your computer is really slow, you may need to set the Latency higher.

There is a newer version of PRO96COM, v 1.3.1 Build 37

I have tried all kinds of ways. I have the Model: 2000289
Catalog #: 20-289. I am using my pro 96 (Hand Held). I lowered latency and nothing. I have it set to com 1. I didn't see v 1.2.1 build 37 just the 36. I wonder if the handheld doesn't have 9600 and the 2096 does?

When you origionally go to monitor the CC in MAN mode does it show 36 or 96 before the SYS ID:, if it shows 36 the system is 3600 and the program will not work with it. The PRO96 works very well with pro96com on a 9600 system, I'm using it now to watch a new system. If your on a 9600 system when you firsdt go to MAN mode the bottom line on the scanner should alternate between something like:
96:SY194 90%
96:T0101 90%
96:BEE00 90%
If it doesn't show 96: your not on a 9600 system.
I believe the system you listed is 3600.
A 9600 system in the RR database should read System Voice:APCO-25 Common Air Interface Exclusive.

it is Analog and APCO-25 Common Air Interface. I live St Johns Co 1 south of Duval Co. I am not sure if I have to be in that county to have the software working. I can pick up the signal. I have updated the radio from radio shack.

If it is Analog it is 3600 - the program won't work.

All public safety is all Digital. It still might be 3600. Is there software I can use to pick 3600?
It has to be all digital to be 9600. I don't know if there is any software for 3600 that will work with the PRO96. Most of the systems in my area are either 9600 or are converting to 9600.

M36 is 3600 system - the % number are how well you're receiving it ,if you can get 75% it should be good, but it would have to be a 9600 system for pro96com. I haven't seen any software that says it will work with the PRO96/2096 for other systems.

I have the starrsoft program for the 96. Pro96com I thought maybe I could use that but it only does 9600 and Duval is 3600 so that program is not useful to me.

You'll need a tapped radio and Unitrunker, or a slicer and MTrunker to view those 3600 systems. If the Pro-96/2096 put presented the data from 3600bps control channels at the PC-IF port like it does the 9600bps data, I would have likely worked on decoding that in Pro96Com as well, but since it doesn't, I didn't.. ;)
