If anyone can point me in the right directions, I need to get these 2 radios programed. I anticipate changing freqs in them every now and then so I'd like to be able to do it myself. I've got a RIB box and cables but I'm lacking software and experience with these 2 units. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey there...

Software for these units can be got from /\/\otorola at: 1-800-422-4210.

Information on programming and tweaking them is available at: www.batlabs.com.

Hope this helps!

Well... if whatever was contained in the PM's was better than obtaining the software the legal way, I'd love to know what it was. If it was important enough to ask in an open forum, why aren't we sharing such a great answer in the open forum?

I'm sure I know the reason already, but I just had to ask...

You assume too much. If you'll go back to my original post, you'll see that I said I was lacking the software and experience. I never asked to obtain any software in an illegal manner. For you to imply that I did isn't very cool.

But, since you're so sure you know the reason already, we might as well just let you think what you want.

Why so defensive? I never implied that you asked to obtain any software in an illegal manner. But still, if the information in the PM's was so much better than a one-stop shopping phone number that could answer all your questions straight from the horse's mouth, I'm real curious to know what it is. Again, if it's important enough to bring to the attention of the entire forum, why hide the eventual answer, particularly if it's purported to be the better answer than calling Motorola direct?

If you are so lacking in software and experience with regards to Motorola radios, how could you possibly judge which post was better to begin with?

If you want to talk about uncool, dissing on my response to your original question in a followup was very uncool, indeed.

There is a guy who own a computer shop justr east of Garnett on 20th street. It is like the 4th building. It has a cactus logo. He is a motorola trained certified tech and claims he can program ANY motorola raido.
He has a bunch of them. Try him.
