Just chiming in on this. If you're still having trouble, and I know this is a tad extreme, I live within hours of your area. You can mail it to me or meet me say in St. Cloud some weekend and I can fix you up. Obviously this isn't a contract for continual support but it's an offer if you're truly still stumped. There has to be someone in your area closer though as I live in ND but travel to central MN somewhat regularly.

No no. That is okay. I will clone it off another one, but I was at a estate sale yesterday, and found a Bearcat Trunk Tracker V Scanner BCD436HP. Still going to Keep the Raido Shack scanner though. I like that one the most, but have a few questions on that one as well.

The Uniden BCD436HP has the capability of P25 Phase 1 and 2. It also can do ProVoice, DMR, and NXDN with paid upgrades.. Your Pro-106 can only do P25 phase 1. I am familiar with the 436 also and would be happy to answer any questions for you.

I used the Zip code feature. It gave some of the St. Louis County, but gave me way to much of Wi. I don't want to hear what is going on 600 miles away from my home. I just want the St. Louis County in Minnesota. I am kind of afraid of pressing the wrong button and erasing the whole thing again. Don't they have Books for Dummies like me for programing these things??

I suggest that you use Uniden BCDx36HP Sentinel to create favorites lists of only what you want to hear. Create a favorites list for St Louis Co and save it. You can go into the USA database, find Minnesota, St Louis Co, Statewide, ARMER, St Louis Co. Highlight St Louis Co. Click on the gold star at the top of the page (Append) and select the favorites list you just created. St Louis Co will now be on that favorites list. Go to menu. Set scan selection, select lists to monitor, turn off full database and search with scan and turn on St Louis Co. When you exit the menu (press the system button) you will be scanning only St Louis Co. You can further edit the favorites list to eliminate anything that you do not want. Read the Sentinel manual to become familiar with it. This is just the beginning of a learning experience.
