Does anyone know if i can program the 436hp like i can with the 396xt? For example: instead of listening to a whole system, just listen to 2 or 3 departments.

Yes. They are called "Favorites" and can best be programmed using the Sentinel software.

Yes. Right now i have the 996xt. Currently im scanning my local system, but only the county channels and city channels for where i live (FD east, LE east, Montgomery FD, Montgomery PD). Does that make sense?
