Migrating to ProScan from Sentinel. Bought it, and I'm able to read the scanner, but when I select the favorites editor, everything is grey. How do I get the scanner fav lists into the editor?
Ya it seems like it'll be good to keep Sentinel around. Some stuff is easier to do there.....like pull down the current db, and updates. The ProScan will let you pull down whatever you want, specifically. I don't see how to do updates.
Firmware updates are done in sentinel at this time. Favorite list updates are can be done thru @ProScan as long as those lists were created in proscan and were done after a certain version.

Correct. Per the FAQ web page.
A: Sentinel is needed for firmware updates. It's also needed for accessing the full HPDB (Uniden DB), updated weekly, which is derived from the RRDB (Radio Reference DB). Premium Radio Reference Subscriber can import directly from the RRDB in real time.
ProScan has extra capabilities that Sentinel doesn't have such as:
Multiple Favorites on the same tree which makes it easy to Copy & Paste and Drag & Drop systems
Find Duplicates utility
Find & Replace utility
Update Text Tags utility
Import directly from RRDB. RadioReference subscription required
Import from the Win Clipboard or from a RR web page. RadioReference subscription not required
Versatile Sorting options
Google Maps showing all the systems with circles or rectangles
Export nicely formatted web page showing any or all (user selectable) FQK's, SQK's, Number Tags, and systems
Copy & Paste and Drag & Drop nodes to other systems and other ProScan instances
SDS200 FTP Read & Write using the LAN connection
View the differences between ProScan and the Scanner favorites when writing and reading to and from the scanner
