Good evening all,

I was hoping i could get some insight on how to get my uniden 436hp to connect to RSOIP. (hardware/software specs down below)

I have the paid proscan software and I can get it to run the web client locally without issue , unfortunately for the life of me I cant get RSOIP to work.

I've already gone into my router and assigned a reservation to the computers local IP address, and left the port forwarding set with port 5000 on both the proscan software and my router (TCP as stated in the manual). I've read the manual over and over again and cant seem to get why I can get the web client locally but not the RSOIP locally or remotely.

I ran can you see me on my ip with port 5000 and it was visible. Also Emailed bob and he suggested I post here with hopes someone could guide me in the right direction.

Hardware/software specs are:
HP laptop running windows 10, with proscan 15.1 paid version
4636hp scanner wired with usb and audio ( audio is squared away and can be heard on web client)
Netgear R7000 router with the HP computers local IP reserved and port forwarding set on proscan and router (port 5000) with TCP only as required by manual

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance :)

Make sure your web server is not running or on the same port try port 5001 on the remote scanner over IP

Gave it a shot changing port to 5001 and no go, still the same results :poop::poop:

I feel like I’m doing something insanely stupid that’s causing it to not work

OK here is a basic example.
Outside internet address 75.123.124.55
Inside router address 192.168.1.1
PC running PROSCAN connected to BCD436HP address 192.168.1.100
2nd PC in your house address running 2nd copy of PROSCAN or PROSCAN CLIENT 192.168.1.101
#1 Can you connect from a different computer in your house to the computer running PROSCAN?
If not open a DOS PROMPT on the 2nd PC and TYPE PING 192.168.1.100 and ENTER you should get a reply back from 192.168.1.100
To test outside address you need to try from some where other than your house.
Your router may have to be saved in the port forwarding section plus on the home page as well I have scene this also.

Make sure you do port forwarding for both ports you are going to use. The IP address to use with the port forwarding is the IP of the computer running Proscan. Use open port check tool to see if the ports are open. Note that only works with the server running. Some routers (mine included) won't let you access the web server or RSOIP while using the external IP while you are on the same network.

Try to connect to RSOIP on the same PC with your local IP as there is no need to open any ports on the same PC and not to worry about a firewall messing with you !

If that don't work somethings really wrong !!

you should always be able to connect to your own PC regardless of any ports or firewall

Start there and if all good probably your firewall is blocking you

Not true windows blocks remote access and you have to give permission for software to run for remote access.
This is done on install or fist run.

Dont think you understood my post ?

"Try to connect to RSOIP on the same PC with your local IP as there is no need to open any ports on the same PC "

What I meant was try running Proscan (in client mode) on the same PC that your (proscan server mode) is running

the ports on your router is for other PCs on the internet or local network

You cant block the same PC running a server on the same PC in other words you cant block yourself LOL

Try it and I bet it will work just fine as there is no need to worry about open ports or firewalls

then try
Open Port Check Tool -- Verify Port Forwarding on Your Router from there you probably see that port 5000 and 5001 are both blocked thats windows 10 for ya

You should get this
Success: I can see your service on ##.###.###.### on port (5000)
Your ISP is not blocking port 5000

One other thing if it is open then your ISP is not allowing loop back however that has nothing to do with your local IP
