Hello,

Btw, the case does not have the rubber grips that would fall off the sides like the PRO 96. The grips are injection molded as part of the case. The belt clip is detachable (NOT SCREWED IN) with the use of as an injection molder would call a "Living Hinge". Simply slide it on or off.

The SAME Alert Tone can be muted when a FIPS is sent out. So, if you don't want to be blasted out of your bed or chair, nice feature.

The 8 LEDs were cool looking. :)

I have never given much thought to in-dash mounting on scanners, but now I am thinking of getting a JVC KD-HDR1 for my Chevrolet Silverado pick-up. Has anyone here ever done a scanner in an in-dash configuration? Is it a good way to go or did you regret doing it afterwards? My OEM vehicle radio is a double-DIN configuration, so I was thinking that perhaps the JVC KD-HDR1 could go in one slot and a GRE PSR-600 with the DIN-E kit for the other slot.

I went from this Jan 2001 2067 install to the Feb 2004 2096 install and intend to install the new PSR600 whenever available.

Hey Frank, very nice neat looking install. Are you going to get a new Saturn to go with that newest planned install?

Thanks Randy,

Car was delivered the day before the 2067 install in 01. Its rigged to tow behind a motorhome including brakes and brake away. The car only has 47k driven miles after 6 1/2 years. Add another 30k towed. On the second battery, second set of tires and second set of wipers and about 14 oil and filter changes. My bride details it well also.

Gonna get two PSR600's and a 500. Still have space for another scanner mounted from the overhead in front of the drivers chair in the RV. Currently use a 2096 and 785D when we travel.

Folks, since this is a sticky and no doubt a thread a lot of people will be interested in I'd like everyone to stay as close to the topic as possible and provide good, useful info. (Speculate in isolated threads) That way someone doesn't have to come along and read 30 pages with 10 completely off-topic. We're doing fine so far, lets keep it up.

Thanks.

I noticed that these advertisements list 1800 memories. Is that a change from other pre-release information? I thought that I had read some huge number like 36,000, but I can't seem to find it now.

Eighteen hundred memory locations AND twenty-one Virtual folders, each of which can hold the entire memory contents.

Any thoughts on scrapping this thread and starting fresh now that the theories and guesses can be replaced with real info?
