After reading this again, you are correct. My SS-70 didn't make the noise either. I was thinking of the home made scrambler I made using an NE602 mixer and 567 tone generator.

The SS-70 worked really well. I think I might dig it out again and fix it up.

Thanks.......... another project.

It was just extra air in the scanner, run it on a VHF/UHF radio and its clear and loud.

Grog, I did share the thought; you quoted it.

If you want the backup for it, you will have to wait; as I told another member in a PM, I am packing and getting ready to go on a vacation at the end of the week and do not have the time to dig for it. However, since there is so much interest in this, I guess I will dig it out when I return in a couple of weeks, just be patient.

I did not see the two week later post. Was it removed?

No, not removed. I just forgot about it after getting back. However, I spent the last hour looking for it (the saved copy) and since I couldn't find it, the original from the FCC site (which if you have ever searched you will understand) without luck. I will eventually find it, (there is another computer that hasn't been turned on in over a year) and it may reside on that HD (although I thought I had backed it all up to the external HD that I checked). To those who were looking for this (especially Grog), I apologize; life happens sometimes.
