If i remember correctly Phoenix PD was going to drop the encryption on some of their routine talkgroups. What ever happened with this if anything?

I belive they are going to do that once all of the VHF channels are eliminated, then I think they were going to unencrypt the C Deck and put all the hot traffic back on there like it used to be. ( But I could be wrong)

What I've experienced is C-Deck will stay encrypted for on-site tactical traffic (e.g. SWAT, etc.); however they started dispatching "hot" traffic over to B-Deck (which is un-encrypted) several months ago. I don't think you'll ever see C-Deck unencrypted.

Latley I have heard C Deck 6 and C Deck 7 in the clear all the time. It sounds like C Deck 6 is being used as an info channel and I havent heard what C deck 7 is being used for. So far thats the only channels on C Deck I have heard in the clear.

Yea, I just talked to a dispatcher and she said that all Hot Traffic is gonna Stay on B Deck & they are going to keep SAU etc. on C Deck. So you were right.

Has anybody figured out waht they are using C Deck 6 for? I hear a lot of unencrypted traffic on it.
