Radio ID's on 396T

I have my 396T programed to scan a Motorola Type-2 SmartZone system. Is there a way I can get the Radio Id's to come up on the scanner?
Our radios for that system all display the radio ID of whoever is transmitting on that talkgroup, but I haven't been able to find a similar feature in the manual for the 396, or in any of the software packages associated with it.

Do you mean I need to use PC software to enable this? I used ARC396 to program the scanner initially, but didn't see anything regarding radio ID's.

No, the scanner is not able to decode the radio IDs. You will need to run software on a computer to display the IDs (on the computer - not on the radio). You need the audio from that control/data channel on the radio to be fed into the computer to accomplish that.

Considering the number of people who want to know radio IDs and such, it sure would be nice if Uniden would make that a feature on their newer scanners....

especially now that they can display the sysid... ive been thinking showing the radio IDs would be the next logical step.

Probably would be pretty easy to implement on Astro, not sure if they would be able to do it on MDC1200 and the like.

Hello,

The RID's only show when using the Private Call or I-Call feature, or when you program a Wild Card, 700000 or i00000 as a TG in a Group.
