Ok! I will admit, I wanted this scanner when it first came out. Then the 2042 came out and I moved on. I know it was a nice scanner and all, but, even in brand new condition, I cannot believe the ridiculous outrageous prices people are willing to pay. This radio is outdated to say the least. Take a look:

I almost fell backwards in my chair when I saw the final price! I can get a digital and an analog scanner for that price! Look at the bidding history, insane!

RE:EBay auction on Pro-2035

Well I guess this just proves there's always somebody out there willing to pay ANYTHING for something. Unbelieveable!! The seller must have just about fell over and croaked at the sold price. The lucky duck...$740 for about a $150 scanner, if that...For the life of me I can't figure out the buyer either, why pay that much??? You gotta know that the scanner isn't worth anywhere near that amount...Shocking!!!

I thought the same thing myself! I can understand paying that much for a good used HF rig or something like that but a Radio Shack scanner? Seriously? Not even a brand new top of the line Pro-197 digital is worth that much...I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when the seller first looked at the sold price! LOL...Quick, call 911....Begin CPR.....Is there a law against drinking and bidding? Bidding under the influence perhaps? HMMMM..... Just a thought....

Wow, outrageous. I bought one of those from ratshack when they first came out. If memory serves me correct, I think it was in the $499 range. I know my wife thought I was crazy when I bought it. I really loved it though. Great scanner.

I read the description of this item and nowhere did I see where it was gold plated or encrusted with diamonds, so why did it command this amount of money?

P.T. Barnum was right! " One born every minute".

It was new in the box, never used. The highest two bidders must have a thing for NIB equipment! If you look at the bid history, they kept trying to outbid each other over a period of several days leading up to the end of the auction. Makes you wonder what high bid amount the winner actually had input as his maximum?

Probably shill bidding where the seller has his buddy keep bidding and driving up the price.
Happens a lot and eBay says they can detect it but not sure how they do that.

Then again, maybe someone has an unused Optoscan 535 board that needs a 2035 or 2042 to install it in. Still not worth that price though!
