I know i have much to learn that's why i'm asking ,So are us saying there is nothing i can do about it?

And when i search if MotoTRBO is DMR it says it is DMR.

The PRO-197 is the same as the PRO-652 and was invented and on the Market before DMR was invented.
DMR as was NXDN to be a more Price efficient Radio Format than P25.
Most all older Scanners Do not have enough Flash Memory to upgrade to newer Digital Formats this includes P25 Phase 2.

The Uniden 536 436 996P2 325P2 are all upgradeable scanners but we were told by UPMan before he Passed Away that these Scanners were at the edges of the Flash Memory so we could only expect limited Firmware Updates due to the Limited Memory Space.
We were also told that the SDS Scanners had more Memory but he Passed Away before we learned all the extras that were in the pipe.

Google does not know everything. It only knows what Google CEO wants you to know.

DMR is an open digital radio standard. MotoTRBO is Motorola's implementation of said standard. Not all DMR is MotoTRBO. Other players in the DMR game: Hytera, Tait Radio, Icom, and Kenwood not to mention various amateur radio manufacturers

Well duh i know that but it's a search engine and i got to use to to find other stuff, would you prefer i used yahoo instead.
would the pro 652 decode any of This I know on some of those p25phase 2 sites it will say that it's phase 2 but most are still using phase 1 is any of that still phase 1?

Google (the search engine) is top notch. Google AI is not top notch. Google search will yield the correct info. Google AI gathers bits and pieces of different things from all over and is often filled with errors.
Pro 652 Google search.
Very first result actually takes you to RR Wiki where the page there really offers no details about the scanner..
If you ask Google (search engine) does pro 652 do DMR, google AI says .
Its always best to find a reputable place selling the radio and read the specs. Or google the specs. All of that info is on the web and not difficult to find.

The pro652 will work for the VA system as the talkgroups are labeled “D” meaning phase 1 digital (even though the system itself is phase 2). It may not work well with simulcast sites on the system. You may want to visit the VA state forum for more information.
Virginia is mostly encrypted now on their STARS radio system. Just look at the treads on the Virginia Forum.
Even if not encrypted does really matter as the system is going to phase 2 and your PRO652 can't handle that. Plenty are listed as phase 1, but they have started to use phase 2 and no one has updated the database.

I am not really in position to update the database. Don't live in Virginia, but deliver to Richmond area and points South and stay there at least one night. Also with all changes and updates they roll out more encryption daily and it really needs to be updated by someone there 24/7.
Really won't matter which phase it is with it mostly be encrypted even forestry and DOT assistance being encrypted.
Our days to monitor the Virginia STARS system will be ending soon with the encryption.
I really stopped any monitoring of STARS and removed it from.G5.

I have done the same thing i just removed STARS from my monitoring. it really sucks call your representatives and complain that's about all i know to do.
