I had nothing else to type about, and was trying hard to block out the idea of getting a 396XT in celebration of this event.

In addition, broadcasters who maintain a feed that meets a minimum set of requirements will be granted a complementary RadioReference Premium subscription, in addition to recognition in the overall RadioReference community.

Thats what I am talking about, making my 5 feeds pay off! lol :)

Yessssssss thanks you Lindsay and Gordan!!!!!!!!

I love serving a feed for my area, and best part is i am gonna split my feed in to 2 sets one side is all trunking the other is Normal non trunking!

But cool, whats the eta, for the migration perod and will the feeds be going down if at all and if so how long and will it be by regions or what?

Don't you think it's a little soon to be asking questions like that?

I don't, it is never to early to ask. Show importance of what us feed operators want to know asap.

I have an account on both places, will my feed account on SA that I provide be a redundant account with my paid account here?

somehow I seem to be wondering, if I am a paid subscriber here, and being a feed provider I wont benefit from a feed subscription. (my subscription is probably due soon anyway) something to think about I guess.

Yes I did, I did read the SA posts. Seen your post too and agree. :D I think they are a tad upset about how this site charges for information and the SA feed providers giving freely. From what I read the merger will actually give something back the a feed provider.

I can see it as a win win for me and you. I would think this should attract others to provide feeds. ??

I bet we change our uplink info to he rr site name and we are done.

I would be curious to know how people like this setup..

Wish I could change my account name before the merger. would this make it easier for the migration maybe?

I think one big difference as you will find out I am sure is that on ScanAmerica and ScanGwinnett in particular we have forums that are completely unrelated to anything to do with scanning etc. We are a group of internet friend that have grown to know what to expect from each other and know the personalities of each and not be offended when a thread is hijacked or get a little risque. As a moderator on the site we give a little more leeway than I have seen on this site.

And thats fine nt i like both the same, things are diffrent i know, But i am looking at the aspact of this,
Ypu have both the info for the scanner and the stream if its thre on this site, makes it easer then having to run from place to place to find it

I am glad that s.a. was made Gordan had a very awesome idea and i wish i could have thought of it, but hell i am enjoying it and using it as a tool, also my listens to my stream on a regular basis and the chicago fire and police stream they have.

heck i just am glad they have combinded the two for a better place, why not,

just seems that some of tem guys over thre are bitter to this site, and personally i have no problems here

I'll take a stab at this one.
"(i think this may save you some troubles if you use the same email account wd)

This is what i was talking abou for the ones who dont read the posts in s.a.

And I feel that they are bashing for all the wrong reasons"
(from the scan us posts boards)

(Lindsay posted this)
Gordon and I are going to work together to implement a process that gives each feed provider premium subscription access. We don't know exactly how yet, but obviously I'm committed to making sure that we give back to the feed provider who dedicate time and effort.

"Minimum Requirements" will probably means the feed has to be online for a certain amount of time, etc. We are still working through this.

Minus some of the negative sentiment I've seen posted here, I'm very excited about the transition and welcoming the ScanAmerica community to RadioReference. There are some obvious differences in the way that each community operates, and I fully intend to let your locally focused communities continue to run as they have.

(a mad poster he quoted)
Quote:
So to follow up on what Jim was starting but some censor Nazi that isn't even from Colorado took it upon himself to move. I will be one of the first to speculate and even bash this decision. I am half tempted to take my toys somewhere else. I do it for free and for Gordon that's fine. Gordon seemed like a very reasonable guy. From this biased and politically motivated website I see nothing but a bunch of power hungry mods that dispense the rules as they see fit. I am not going to waste my electricity and bandwidth that I pay for only for this website to benefit from unless I am getting paid for it. Granted I do not have one of the highest listened to feeds, but its the principle of the matter. The feed providers are volunteers and Gordon was in my view a not for profit guy. If he made money it wasn't very much I can imagine. Radio reference on the other hand seems to be all about the money. I suppose they expected some fall out from this decision and I hope Gordon made a good chunk of change from it. I will keep it up until I find another website worth hosting it, unless someone censor Nazi decides to mess with this post as well. If that happens I will make it quick and painless. Sorry to rain on the parade.

)end of quote)

Stuff like this is really disheartening to all the folks that put time, effort, and money into providing platforms for you to enjoy. It is a common response to take it personally when a moderator takes action, but the worn out responses of calling people "Nazis" and other names is just childish. In addition, RadioReference isn't "all about the money" - but it is a business. RadioReference provides a tremendous amount of resources to the entire world, for free. However, radioreference.com is a full time job for me, and I have a family to feed and provide for. Whether I made 1 million dollars a year, or 1 dollar a year is irrelevant - it's whether or not you find value in what we provide. If you don't like that, then you don't believe in capitalism, which is the foundation of what drives business and innovation in our country.

In any case, I'd be glad to answer any additional questions or concerns that the ScanAmerica community has. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly at: lindsay [at] radioreference.com

Thanks folks,

Lindsay
