i still am experiencing a range issue.. on the simulcast how can i tell in sentil software the closest tower or repeater for my location to see if this picks up a better signall. thanks

If it's simulcast - the only way you can limit to one tower is via antenna moving. All the sites will be the same freq.

Sentinel will just kist one site for all of it.

In RR you can drill down to the individual locations

What you want to do, can't be done. A simulcast system consists of several transmitter sites. When one transmits, they all transmit simultaneously and on the same frequency. So in essence, if you program one site, you've programmed them all. You can't "pick and choose" which simulcast site you'll monitor and which you won't.

You can use a directional antenna, such as a Yagi, and point it toward the different sites. Choose the one giving you the best performance.
