Hi everyone want to know when I go to sentinel what read from scanner means and does and how it works I have the BCD436HP ?

You probably used Sentinel to set up all your frequencies, trunked systems, and other scanner parameters, like delay times, hold times, and many, many others. You then used Sentinel to WRITE that information to your scanner.

If you then make changes to some of those settings on your physical scanner, you can then bring those changes back into your profile by using the READ from scanner function.

You would probably not use the READ function that often, unless you've made changes to your scanner while using it out in the field and you want to now incorporate those features into your Sentinel profile.

If you're not sure and want to experiment, use the "Save As" function under the File tab to give your profile a new name, and then when you READ from scanner, you will have preserved the original settings in your "old" profile by reading the scanner information into the "new" profile.
