Rebanding

Does anyone know when Nashua will reband. If there is any way to find out when before it actually happens I would love to know. I just don't want to realize one day that they suddenly switched frequencies, if possible I want to be prepared for it.

What scanner(s) do you currently use? Certain scanners are capable of supporting rebanding if and when it happens. Many of the older scanners do not support rebanding.

I have a BC95XLT that I am using listen to Nashua's Analog trunked system. It's not a trunking scanner. I just have the primary voice frequencies on priority scan.

This maybe a little off topic but has the Nashua Police Department or Fire Department updated or added any frequencies lately. I also saw on the FCC license that they added a whole bunch of new frequencies are these the rebanding frequencies.

Those new frequencies are the new rebanding frequencies. After rebanding occurs the new frequencies will be all the ones that are 15 MHz below the ones being used now. They are already listed in the FCC database because they must be approved long before they are used. The only problem is to find out when the switch over will occur.

Nashua Rebanding Effect on Scanner

I am looking for someone willing to do more than refer me to a link.

I currently am listening to the Nashua, NH trunked Analog radio system on my BC95XLT scanner. It is a NON-TRUNKING scanner. I simply have all the necessary voice frequencies programmed in and I am scanning them conventionally. I am fully aware that after rebanding of this Motorola system many Trunking scanners will need to be upgraded or replaced. I have heard that along with the rebanding of Motorola systems will be a software upgrade as well. Should I worry about losing the ability to listen into to this system after rebanding. *REMEMBER: I am talking about monitoring the system conventionally with a non-trunking scanner as I am now.

I can only assume if they remain analog, then yes you could do what you're doing now. That also assumes when you subtract 15Mhz from the current frequencies (as mentioned previously), your scanner will still receive those frequencies (I think they should).
