Here's the interesting question. Let's say I'm one of the lucky ones with a headphone issue. I'll send it back to Uniden when they get their process figured out. If I get a replacement scanner, while I have to re-register the new one or will Uniden update their database accordingly?

I would say you would re-register since it will be a different serial number

Of course, as mentioned elsewhere, there is no need to register at all.
