disable the microphone in the device manager, and prevent it from being used by the OS.

if the OS can't access it, the mixer won't mix it.

Windows: Right Click speaker icon in taskbar. Click on Sound Settings. On the right side of the box where it says Output, scroll down to Input and check things out. Scroll down to Advanced for more settings and Troubleshooting.
