For those that may not know - FreeScan's code has been put into open source, meaning anyone can now start developing it.

The above thread is for a proposed rewrite, the details for which are being worked out. To that end, a wiki page off the FreeScan User guide has been opened to document bugs and issues...

Per the above thread, the known issues about inaccurate DMR/MOTOTRBO support, the lack of NXDN support, Google maps API not working are all on the table. Obviously this will also entail better support for the P2 series. As you can see there is already some data here to hopefully add some intelligence to the database import process in order to parse out those trunk types no scanner can handle.

If you have bugs other than those above please put them in the Bugs and Issues page There is also a Github respository as shown on the above page. I can't stress this enough - please supply, at a minimum, a link to the database (or to the website) that causes the error you report, so it can be duplicated. Details matter! The better the description, the better the fix

Before anyone asks, yes, I will be reworking the User Guide that Assaf and I wrote once we get some fixes in place. Most likely there will need have new screen shots and some explanatory text added.

In addition if there's a function that isn't working, be sure to state the steps precisely so that the error can be recreated. Screen shots are encouraged. If you've never uploaded an image, don't worry - there's lots of folks that can help.

In order to make it a bit easier to create database links, you can use the DB template which we use very frequently for this purpose. The documentation on how to construct the template is shown here...
