A few questions to help troubleshoot. What dBm values are you seeing? Has it always been choppy or did something change? What firmware version? Have you tried changing the p25 demod mode to see if that changes anything?

Try moving the antenna around. Try different orientations while you are monitoring signal insights and the IQ plot. Make sure the antenna is on top of a metal structure. As FreNout suggested, do try changing the demod mode. In the next release, there will be a real-time-automatic option for the demod mode.

This solid stainless steel support for 2 antennas works great. However, I'm also only 2.25 miles from the simulcast site. It's really heavy and not as easy for the cat to tip over as the wooden support I used previously.

edit: Also, keep in mind while adjusting the antenna that you want to adjust for lower EVM. That is more important than the absolute signal level.

Good to hear you are seeing improved signal by moving antenna location. Keep in mind even small movements of the antenna can make a big difference. A full radio wavelength at 850 MHz is less than 14 inches.
