This begs the question why still work on the kit? Just to supply to those that already have one?

There are quite a few of these out there. Just the numbers alone of people on this site looking to buy a kit makes it worth it to me. I was hoping that UpMan would chime in and give an indication on what their intention is with the RH-96. Scannermaster told me they had them on order, but no leadtime date as of the time I talked with them.

We have parts on the way to build the kits, so we are going to start taking orders today! I expect the parts in a matter of a few days, we will then assemble and start shipping within the next 10 days. This is your chance to get in on the first round batch. Of course, if we sell out, we will notify those who are backordered and you will have the option to wait for the next shipment (about two weeks) or request a refund. We completely understand that some people do not wish to wait that long.

If you would like to place an order, please visit our website at:

Please feel free to post questions.

Thanks!

Same here, looking forward to it, thanks Jason!

Thanks for the order!

Started to assemble last night, so it won't be long before we start shipping. I hope some more orders start to trickle in. I bought parts based on the head counts I took here.

Thanks all around!

Your link only allows you to get one set at a time. I want to order 2 so do I have to do it twice and pay shipping twice?

PS I can't find it on you web site anywhere. Is the link from the forum the only way to get to the product?

Actually, once you add the kit, change the quantity in the shopping cart and then click "update cart". This will increase the total for the number of kits that you entered. You will only pay ONE shipping fee. I would never double-charge for that.

That is my fault! I was rushing to get the page added that I forgot to add any kind of link from the main page. The link I provided a few posts up is directly to the "hidden" page (not meant to be hidden:) )

Here is the link again, just in case:

Sorry for the confusion!

EDIT: OK, OK! I see what I did wrong :D I put a Buy It Now button on the page. What I meant to put was an Add To Cart button. I have fixed this and now multiple quantities should be working.

Just an update:

Everything is on schedule to ship by next week. Tonight, we built up all of the boards that we had in stock and with the current orders, that leaves 4 kits in stock. Get your order in now, while we still have some left. If the orders go over the stock available, we will order more boards this week.

I planned to have some in stock, at the Dayton Hamvention in May, but if they keep selling out online, I will just have to take orders at the show :)

Thanks again to all who have placed an order!

So I was thinking about this on my way home tonight, would their be any way to hook this up to a router wireless or non and somehow control/listen via a computer or another router and control head. Also maybe multiple control heads from a router?

I think the short answer is "No".

Just because this makes use of CAT5 cable doesn't mean that the signals that the cable is carrying are ethernet packets. One pair is carrying the audio, one the data for the display, and one the power. Also the voltage levels are not what the router would be expecting.

If you want to remotely control a scanner either within your local network or over the Internet, there are ways to easily do that using software such as ProScan and you wouldn't need the RH96.

Dick is correct, all the way around. The Cat5 cable was used simply because it is readily available, easy for the end user to make up and the pairs are already in a logical order to reduce interference with each other or have crosstalk.
