Also, I still have two complete kits in stock. Get them while I have them! It will be several weeks before I have anymore since I have to order more boards and make up more cables.

Plus, with Dayton Hamvention right around the corner, I am putting most of my time and effort into that, as well. We have some new products to offer this year :D

Arrived today. Looks great.

I'm curious as to the purpose of the extra pair of traces going to (or under) the data jacks. Probably something obvious, but I haven't figured out what they're for.

Thanks!

Do you already have a booth number for the Dayton Hamvention? I'd like to drop by and see your products and especially the RH96 Control Head Remote Kit!

We are always in booth #503, along side 504 and 505 occupied by our friends Argent Data Systems. We are in what I call the "gray room". Concrete floors and gray backdrops.

Luckily this year, for the first time, our name will actually be listed in the directory. Just look for RPC Electronics, LLC.

Got it!

Jason,
I received the unit yesterday, and it looks GREAT! Really inpressed by what a professional job you've dobe in packaging the units!
I should be able to use this unit with a Uniden 330T, correct?
Thanks for a nice job!!!

It has been over a week now, since the kits shipped out. I am wondering what the general reaction is. Does anyone have their installed and working yet? What do you think of it? Was it easy to connect up and get working?

Thanks for the feedback!

It worked great for me... love it.

I remote mounted the head on my dash in my truck, and put my 396XT under the back seat... and instead of pulling 3 cables (power, audio, control) I just pulled one Cat5... so it made it much easier and cleaner.

The only thing i wish it had was some sort of really small case for it... or if it could've fit inside the head itself or something - just a thought.

Two thumbs up! :D

How much for a set posted to Australia? Doing my new car install in about a month and keen to use this.

$15 US. I know it seems high, but that barely covers the postage and packing materials. The cost of sending items to Australia (and Europe) has exponentially increased in the recent years.

EDIT: By the way, I have exactly ONE kit left in-stock. If I was to get another 5-10 orders, I would go ahead and order more boards and parts, but without some kind of demand, I am not going to stock up on something I cannot sell. The numbers sold vs. the numbers I gathers through head counts on this forum were far from close to each other. Luckily, I didn't buy enough parts based on the head count. I bought about half and came in just about right.

If nobody snagged it before me, you now have 0 kits in stock. If they did, let me know if you are going to reorder since I'll assume you'll refund the payment.

Looks like it's yours. I will ship it out in the morning. Thanks!

Thanks. I meant to order when you first posted that they were in, but had a bunch of other stuff come up.

I'm looking forward to getting this kit. I have a spare control head cable that I'm going to see if I can shorten and put a connector on. That way it will shorter and easier to handle.

Can you post a rough geuss when more will be in stock?

At this point, I need at least 4 orders to come in, to warrant buying another batch of parts. I am willing to take some orders in over a set period of, say 1 month, as long as the buyers understand that they may have to wait at least that long, if not a little longer to build the units and ship them. The orders might trickle in, but they might all come at once and cut that time down to less than a couple of weeks.

If at the end of that time period I don't have the minimum orders needed, I will refund the money to the buyers.

I understand that things come up for people and priorities change...my god do I know that :D Except, the head counts I took here were MUCH higher than the actual orders that came in.

Are you using a standard CAT5 network cable? If so, please make sure that the color standard is reserved on both ends. This will ensure that the pinout is correct, but more important, each pair will have a ground associated with it.

The standard color code is (copper contacts up, cable end facing you, left to right):

1. Orange/White
2. Orange
3. Green/White
4. Blue
5. Blue/White
6. Green
7. Brown/White
8. Brown
