SAFE-T Tower Google earth waypoints & DDD to DMS Spread sheet

I thought it would be more appropriate to post this in a separate thread.

The attachment contains one excel file with corrected coordinates for each SAFE-T site and a Google earth *.kmz file so you can look at the pretty towers too.

The excel file started from a CVS file posted previously by Racin06 (Thanks again!) I have updated it with some correction (additional sites, Frequencies and coordinates) as well as added some additional columns I thought would be useful.

I've added 2 columns that take the Lat Long in DDD format and convert it to DMS. This can then be copied into the free UASD software for the BCD996T. There is also a column that has the lat / long in a format that can be easily copied into Google earth. (BTW all of Indiana is in high resolution). The BCD996T tab just has the pertinent data transposed. (Again for easy of copying into UASD system editor)

I have verified most of the sites coordinates via Google Earth (The sites highlighted in green have been verified with Google earth). If anyone could verify the coordinates of those not highlighted I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi All,

I updated the files again. I was able to find sites 402 Petersburg (Pike) and 420 Leavenworth (Crawford).

402 was a little south of the original coordinates posted. I have tweaked them so it is closer to the tower.

Site 420 had site 418 Rockport (Spencer) coordinated. The SAFE-T RR database has the Site license and site Neighbors call sign flipped on the Additional Site Information Page. Instead of looking up the location for call sign WQEE929 (420), it was looking up the location for WQED853 (418). I went to the FCC website to find correct coordinates.

Per Trido’s request I placed the posted coordinates for the 428 Henderson site in the *.KMZ. Unfortunately, I can’t verify that there really is a tower there because the resolution on Google earth is poor in that location. Looks like Spooney is confirming it is truly there so I may highlight it green next go round.

I also added the posted coordinates for the 423 Princeton (Gibson) site in the *.KMZ file. There again I didn’t see a tower there, however that could be because the satellite picture was taken before it was built. I can’t say for sure.

Spooney, I mean no disrespect, but I don’t give out my email address in any of the forums I frequent. If you could post the additional information for everyone, that would be the best way. Thanks.

Henderson looks right ,it is on existing WFIE ch 14 TV tower. But that sure looks close

The Princeton location that R/R has is incorrect which put it on the east side of the county line road which is in Pike County. It is a little hard to see on Google, but it is there on the west side of the county line road between the road and the pond.

Bramble and Winslow are not operational yet, but are under construction at this time.

You should be OK with the Henderson,Ky. site. It is on WFIE-14's tower.

Here is what I have done today:

Highlighted site 428 Henderson (Henderson, KY) green as Spooney and Trido both confirmed the coordinates were correct.

Tweaked 423 Princeton (Gibson) site coordinates and highlighted it green per Dfoutch & Spooney’s confirmation.

Added coordinates for 308 Rosewood (Harrison), 419 Bramble (Martin), 426 Birdseye (Crawford), & 429 Winslow (Pike) and high lighted it yellow (Confirmed via Google Earth but looking for SAFE-T control channel frequencies) Thanks Spooney.
