Why would you store a defective battery, drop it off at a battery recycling center. You'd be crazy to try and use it.

We do not have a battery recycling center near me had to store it in a safe manner until I could find a place to take it.
Hey Bud, Just out of curiosity, If you have a Home Depot by you check with them...
I swear I saw somewhere that they will take battery's for recycling...
I never looked into it though...
I’m case y’all missed it, @buddrousa battery issue was over 3 years ago.

Well I was not going to put the battery in trash. My town does not have a place even today so I took it to Nashville 180 miles away one way when I had a trip there still in the fire bag.
Whoever handles your trash should be able to tell you where you can take the battery for disposal.
Not always. Locally, the guy behind the wheel of the trash truck is a driver and "guard." The guys behind the truck are convicts who, incidentally, are getting paid.

In my area Home Depot, Lowes, Staples, Walmart, and a locally owned hardware store all accept small rechargeable batteries for recycling.
Ahhh.. You don't talk to whose manning the trucks, you talk to the company or local gov. agency who operate the trucks.
Nowhere I have ever lived in my almost 78 years were trash trucks manned by convicts. Most jurisdictions use people convicted of crimes (but not jailed) ordered to do "community service" to pickup trash along highways, but that's it where I have lived.
We have a place that would take anything but LITHION BATTERIES But I do not care to debate the area I live in compared to other places that run your life for you my gas is not $7 a gallon either. THIS IS MY LAST COMMINT ON THIS SUBJECT.

I was a cop in Denver and a frequent ride-along in Pennsylvania. Denver used trustees for cooking and janitor work in the city and county jails. Never out of the building.

After 1.5 years and constant use (plugged in all the time), the original SDS100 large battery swelled up to the point I can not use it anymore. Should receive the new one with charger today. Also replaced battery clasp with aftermarket one.

I saw no reason for the same people to post the same exact pictures in a new thread when we already had one discussing this…just so we could have another 18 page thread about the exact same thing. If you feel this was a mistake please feel free to take it up with @mikewazowski.
