SDPD officially unaccessible as of today. Was so bummed when we lost Carlsbad and oside as those are my local agencies but now SDPD too!? Ugh!!!!

it was offline on broadcastify, but i am actively listening on my sds100. maybe the person providing the feed is just offline?

I was going to say... I'm in Murrieta today, but was listening to Oceanside last night with no issues on my scanners. There hasn't been a live feed for Oceanside in some time on Broadcastify

Can easily confirm today, Saturday, April 30th, 2022, that CBD and OPD are both still in the clear. They are the only LE agencies in my area that still are as far as I can tell so far (Vista area) monitoring the North simulcast site, unless you count the Lifeguards.

I have not heard the SD Trolley folks in a while, though. Did they also go enc? Or did they just restrict themselves to a different site? I missed when that may have happened as I have not been monitoring for quite a while until today.

Trolley security went to the RCS a while ago, MTS CMD - 2678. I haven't listened for them in a while but I don't think they've gone E.

Hi Joey, thanks for replying! Yeah, I should have said - I know they were on the RCS, in fact, that is when I was finally able to hear them well in North County SD! That is why, when I started monitoring again today I was surprised I didn't hear them and wondered if they went encrypted? I figured they would eventually, anyway, but ??

The talkgroup is alive and in the clear on site 41 as I type this. Not sure if I am hearing only bus traffic though. So far nothing I've heard in the last couple minutes sounds like trolley though. Who knows, maybe listen longer and find out something.

Confirmed - they are apparently not being carried on the North site, at least today. I switched to the West site and was able to hear them BUT my signal from the West site is so weak it isn't too reliable where I am currently located so I usually don't monitor it. I thought that I used to be able to monitor them on the North site but maybe just nothing affiliated with that site today.

There are generally not any units in the North simulcast coverage area, so no, it wouldn't be carried there. If a unit comes up North, the system will carry it.

There has been discussion of encryption but no follow through at this point. The SDTE folks have access to mutual aid channels, but only supervisors, dispatch supervisors and communications personnel have access to SO/SDPD talkgroups.

With Election Day upon us, it was good to review this thread to understand where a few of the candidates stand on the encryption issue. Thanks for posting these interviews here.

The Government seldom says "DO IT NOW", and they don't in this case. But it should be VERY easy for anyone who is using encryption to go back to not using it.

On Santee dispatch today, dispatch is not encrypted. Oddly, dispatcher are unencrypted but the units seem to be fully encrypted. I’ve heard a couple units where they were encrypted back to dispatch. Not sure if their experimenting with something or whether they are allowing some open traffic due to the holiday. Any ideas?
