I'll fix that. (There goes some of the apparent logic of the system.)

Where did you find a fire radio template? If you are referring to the one in the Power Point presentation, that doesn't account for several known fire tacs.

Yes, it's the power point template. it is is a good generalization of MOST of the fire radios. Certain radios will have specialized TAC channels for their area apparently....(ie. TAC 39 & TAC 64).
The C-TAC & A-TAC channels have been referred to as such since they first tested the system. It's sort-of odd the way they were set-up, but the techs used A-TAC a great deal (and still do).

I'm still wondering if TG-120 is referred to as TAC-10 ? It has always been encrypted, and I have never heard a reference made directly to that channel.

That is why I questioned TAC 21. Unless I actually hear them associate a name with a talk group. I don't list it. All of the talk groups I sent you directly, have actually been called by those tags over the tradio.

Good question (re: TGID 120). None of the fire or EMS materials refer to any encrypted talkgroups. I suspect that there might not be any TAC-10 at all. The highest TAC number encountered so far is 64, but there are not 64 Fire TAC groups on the system.

I understand your thoughts about TAC-21. My extrapolation could be wrong and, as I get very little voice traffic here, it will be very difficult to confirm or deny.

You will notice that the high TAC numbers (39 & 64) are the numbers of their respective FD's. There is supposed to be a TAC-56 as well. I have logged a TG 6056, but I won't label it until I hear them say it.

TalkGroup 3211 is apparently another Highway TG. I'm listening to what sounds like flagmen working traffic.

These are my remaining unknown TGIDs:
101
120 encryption seen
1319
2211

Unknown fire agencies seen:
72
81
93
94

These have been gathered using PRO96COM. I can get fair-to-good decodes on a Zone 1 control channel most days, although voice traffic is still 99% unreadable at my location. I have never heard a peep from Zone 2 here.

Thanks for the helpful responses.

To philb623 -

I know Momentive uses 82 for the ambulance. Is 81 theirs also, or could it be some other industrial brigade?

To Don -

I didn't notice the encryption bit in the log before. Interesting.

It is loud and clear online. You are feeding some police groups also, which you might want to turn off if you are running a fire/EMS feed.

Dave - you are correct about Momentive - they are 82 and KAPL West Milton is 81. I had the numbers backwards.

I left the police talk groups active to fill the void until someone else gets a police feed going for Saratoga County.

That's understandable. I tried to use the audio from your feed to help identify RIDs, but the 15-second latency makes that almost impossible. However, the audio quality is excellent for simple listening!

Another ID question.

Is a fire department unit 9 a fire police unit?

Want to check my RID list?

I have a rather large list of RIDs collected via PRO96COM. I have the ones I can identify tagged and colored. If someone with voice reception on the system who has identified some of the units I can't figure out would like to look my list over, I would appreciate it very much.

PM me with an email address and I'll send you my file. It is comma-delimited ASCII text.

I uploaded my Saratoga County system files to the PRO96COM Yahoogroup file area.

I know in the county we use the Motorola XTS 1500 for our portables.. Would the radio I'm posting below work okay on this system?

Are you looking to operate a radio on the system or monitor the system?

If you are looking to operate on the system, I'd suggest you speak to the county. They will have to authorize any radio you wish to use.

If you are looking to monitor (listen) to the system, I'd suggest you read this thread
http://forums.radioreference.com/mo...ou-want-monitor-trunked-system-moto-read.html
and then buy a scanner :)
