Brought the scanner to work in Saratoga today and can monitor the system fine. Reception with the supplied attenna was scratchy during the day, but has cleared up since sunset...now if I could only get the USB-1 cable to work with my laptop running Vista...ugh

Are all the sites up and running now? Reception on Route 9 just up fron Route 50 was spotty the other day, and I would think I should be able to hear the Wilton site from home in Queensbury. I have an ST-2 mounted about 15 ft above ground and I get nothing...

You could be getting nothing, or you could be getting two or more sites canceling each other out. That seems to be what happens at my home. Mobile reception is much better than base reception.

Try using a directional antenna. I'm using a UHF Yagi mounted for horizontal polarization pointed at Wilton with excellent results. It even picks up the VHF and Low Band Dispatch frequencies quite well.

It was suggested earlier in this thread that having really good reception may be part of the problem with a multicast system. The UHF Yagi with horizontal polarization hopefully reduces reception from all of the other sites and focuses on Wilton.
