Wondering if we could compare notes on the PRO 106. I live in Montgomery Co NY and Gloversville is not to far away from where I am located. If you want we can do 2 meters or an HF contact as well.Would like to program in to the pro 106 the trunk frq and see if I can hear that here in Ft Plain NY
KB2RSK I can work all modes on HF and 2 meters if you want to QSO.
Thanks

Have not seen posted elsewere so I am posting here if someone wishes to add to database. The simplex analog ground frequencies are as follows : Grnd 1 852.2500 pl 146.2 Grnd 2 853.1375 pl 146.2 Grnd 3 853.7750 pl 146.2 These are confirmed accurate as they were 'extracted' from a fire service portable. As I am sure everyone already realizes that being simplex you would need to be in proximity of the user to receive them, mainly on the fireground.

Enjoy

Great, I have a box of MTX8000 to put to good use now.

I updated the DB based on confirmed info, the only TGid I am still looking to ID is the Colonie Interop one. I moved Tac (Talkaround Channels) 3-9 from Fire to Interop because they are on Fire, EMS and SO radios and can be assigned to anyone.

If anyone has any changes, please submit them! Thanks!

TAC is not Talkaround. Also, the correct designations are Fire Tac 3 through 9, not just Tac. If they are (mis)labeled as just TAC in the RRDB, then anyone who tries to feed them as live streams will have unnecessary trouble with the TOS.

I'm not aware of a Colonie Interop. I'll have to watch the system next time Boght sends a FAST up. AFAIK they use a simplex fireground channel.

Isn't everything on the Saratoga County 800 system that would violate the TOS encrypted?

TAC channels are obviously not separate talkaround channels but the County designates the acronym TAC as "Talk Around Channel."

TACs 3-9 are listed as multi-agency TAC channels and programmed into Fire, EMS and SO radios. They can be assigned to any of those agencies. (Though they are almost always assigned for fire operations).

I don't believe the Colonie Interop channel is live yet, it is listed as a future use channel (as is Cap 800).

OK, so the County doesn't know what talk around means. Not surprised.

What is the listed TGID for Colonie Interop? I haven't seen that anywhere yet.

I believe Colonie interop was designated as a 'future use' TG, and not used yet, but the way things are progressing...I may be wrong about that.

I have found out just how sporatic the reception of this system can be. My BCD996XT connected to the WBD-40 discone on the roof receives nada on either the north or south simulcast sites, yet my PRO106 with an Austin Condor sitting across the room is picking up the south simulcast site...weird

Reception issues in Clifton Park as well

I am right near Exit 9 and I can pick up the Brookwood water tower freq, but nothing off the Solartown tower, which is a lot closer.

I agree, very weird behavior. It has been this way since the system came on-line. I used a yagi antenna to pinpoint which tower I was getting because the quality of the signal was very poor.

It seems there is not a problem if you have an outdoor antenna, or even using the stock antenna on the scanner outside, but indoors it is all broken up and unreadable.

I'm wondering if the portables have this problem when they go inside. I think they do. It sounds that way and looks that way to me.

Just my impressions.

I work for 3 different EMS agencies in the Southern half of the county, and for the most part, we really don't have any reception problems in peoples homes. I would say 95% of the time I don't have a problem transmitting or receiving inside. It seems that it's an issue with the scanners, not the actual system.

Thanks for the info

Sounds like the scanner software or firmware is the issue. Hopefully it will get better over time.

Anybody know who the jokers are on TG 3311 every night? Sounds like you are listening to CB radio chit chat.

I found talkgroup 1711 today with mixed law enforcement type traffic. UIDs 723101 & 723103 being dispatched by County. I have also caught a few transmissions on another new TG: 3311, maybe animal control or building/codes department?
