Backlight on the SDS200's is pitiful in daylight. I have 3 of the dang things, and a '100. Yes I have it set at 100% in the SW. Yes it is set to 100% in the scanners.

Back on topic, if these are in the 200'ish range, they will sure get my business, probably several. Looking forward to seeing it in person. I am glad they are waiting to get the development and potential issues handled before throwing them on the market. And I respect them treading into this, not really knowing how well they will sell. Gives me hope that the scanner business hasn't dried up.

Not completely surprised as I’m sure there are complexities involved which most of us don’t understand but, still, it seems this is dragging on. Still no final design??!?!

The more bells & whistles they add to it the longer it will take to reach the production stage. At some point I had hoped they would just stop and put it into production, but then I read of more & more functions they want it to do. That is what usually drags it out.

They could always say screw it and not make them... The timeframe isn't the biggest factor, it's the price point. If they are like half the cost of the scanner itself, they won't sell many.
On that note, they could be trying to find a way to make them more economical and feature rich.
I'll wait for that

Status Update:

We are working hard on the RH200 production. A product like this takes time to develop and produce and we would much rather take the time to do it right. Remember, it is better to have a good product done late than a bad product done fast.

While we hope to have it available for sale by Hamvention 2025 in May we are not promising that. We will try to keep the community informed as to the availability when we have a firm plan in place.

As a matter of fact our third development prototype has just been completed and testing is now underway.

Take your time, and get it right! I would much rather wait and receive a great product later, than hurry up and get something I would have issues with sooner 👍🏻
