When you plug your scanner in and set to USB mass storage it is normal for the File Explorer window to open when it see's the SD card in Win 10... Are you trying to write to the scanner before the Exploer window pops up? If you are it hasn't mounted the SD card yet...

If it is poping up again when you try to write to the scanner after closing it, something is pooched... Not sure what...
I'm using Sentinel with Win 10 and have no issues what so ever...

Thank you for taking the time to send this information, I have fixed the access denied problem when I changed to Administrator, but know this is

If you have to run as administrator your privileges/security is wrong/corrupt.

I suggest uninstalling Sentinel.

Delete all Sentinel folders. c:\program files (x86)\uniden and c:\program data\uniden, the later of which is hidden so you will need to turn on show hidden items (Explorer, view, check hidden items)

do everything in the linked article.

reboot

Reinstall Sentinel.

And when you install Sentinel again... Right click on the .EXE file and run as Administrator...

That's not what I said or implied. Just to be clear I do not recommend right click and run as administrator.

During installation you will probably be asked for administrator privileges, if asked go ahead and enter your password. This is for the installation only. For normal use you don't run as administrator - NEVER.

If you have to run sentinel as administrator, you have a bad installation, or your disk permissions are screwed up.

Let me be more clear...
You right click on the Sentenel install Exacutable...
Not the actual program to run Sentinel...

I understood that, and I do not recommend it.

If a installation needs admin rights it will ask for it. Don't jump the gun. ALWAYS run with least possible permissions.

Ok if I start my scanner up and the hit the E to put it in USB Mas Storage and the scanner and computer are connect to each other the file explorer window comes up. And then if I start the Sentinel program and try to write to scanner it's ok. I thought something was wrong but I was wrong, Sorry for all the confusion on my end. For some reason It was not registering in my brain and I thought something was wrong. Thanks for everyone's help and sorry for wasting everyone time. It now makes sense to me.

If that's the dumbest computer thing you ever do, you're better off than most of us, myself included.
