Understood but that doesn't help the people it might take a few months to save.
I'd be happy if it only took months to save up for a new scanner. The past 10 years haven't been too kind to my discretionary income......

Add eBay seller webtron-x to the list of sellers of the SDS100. As expected, the price is $649.99 with FREE "Standard Shipping" included and coming from Waterford, Wisconsin. It also states that there are "30-day returns." The seller has a 99.6% positive feedback rating with 24,331 sales to date.
There are currently 5 available and here's the link if you are interested: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Uniden-SDS...canner-Trunking-SDR-APCO-P25-DMR/123174914546
Been checking for about 20 minutes but none being displayed for sale at this time (12:20 EST).
Where are the details about the battery thing? At least where the first ones get an upgraded one for free? I thought there was a separate thread that Paul started but I'm either overlooking it or it was just stated in another thread and I'm not finding it...
Nip it In the Bud in the Tech Support subforum.
Did you pay the 30 dollar pre-sale fee? Or did you just order it when it was released ?I want to thank all who offered their assistance. The order from HRO that I thought was the SDS100 turned out to be a couple of UHF adaptors I ordered yesterday. Having received no notice from HRO regarding the SDS100, I sent an email cancelling that order and got this deal just under the wire!

Did you not read the thread? Uniden forced the seller (webtron-x) to raise his price. He had no choice. Had you been a bit quicker, you could have scored one before the price went up.
Thank you for the clarification. Haters going to hate and call illegal as they are now. Thanks Paul.Only Authorized Dealers have access to sell the SDS100. These dealers have agreed to a MAP policy in order to protect the Uniden brand. They are, however, free to sell the scanner at any price they want, but breaking MAP could result in the dealer losing their authorization to sell the product or receive additional inventory. The MAP policy includes, among other stipulations, that the product must be excluded from site-wide discounts if said discounts would result in the product being sold for less than the agreed MAP.
Our legal counsel and the Supreme Court disagree with your legal assessment. The dealer was reminded of the MAP policy and opted to take steps to maintain MAP. He could also have kept the price where it was, taken the product off the site, or lowered the price. We did not force him (and legally cannot force anyone) to change the price. This is not spin. This is both law and common practice (and my final communique on the matter).
Ham Station's 800 order line number has been busy all morning (since the news of the SDS100 shipping.) Ask me how I know.
we no longer have a 800 number
Interesting. Got it off of what I *thought* was your site. It was busy anyway.
This is the number I called: 800-729-4373, although it's not on the webpage anymore.
However, a quick Google search still shows it, so I guess I wasn't dreaming:
Might take a while for Google to reindex.
