Don't trust Factoryoutletstore.

I ordered on Sunday...they promised me they were in stock. I paid for two day shipping through Fedex, with promised delivery on Wed, June 13th. Monday came and it was supposed to ship -no tracking number available. Tuesday came, same story..no tracking info or any other info available from the customer service rep in Lahore. Wednesday came. No scanner delivery, no tracking number, still no information from customer service.

After three phone calls, two emails, and some protest, I finally got them to refund my CC the full amount.

Perhaps they really did NOT have them in stock. Who knows. It was worth a shot due to the good price of $617.00.

Interesting I ordered mine Monday evening got an email Tuesday afternoon saying it shipped via FedEx. Arrived yesterday mid morning. If anyone is wondering it shipped from South Bend Indiana.

That would make sense BUT mharris ordered his SDS100 at the sale price of $617.49 on Sunday and it never shipped. Others posted here on RR (see post above from mule1075) that they ordered from the same retailer AFTER Sunday at the regular price of $649.99 and they received their scanners 1-2 days later. Shouldn't they be filling orders in the order received and not make shipping decisions based on the price that you happened to pay when you made your purchase? Something doesn't sound right here.

Just so if anyone thinks I am blowing smoke.I removed the rest of the order number and my address for obvious reasons.

Well seeing that the SDS100 has only been available for a few weeks now, it didn't take long for a used SDS100 to appear on eBay. Here's a "used" SDS100 with all 3 upgrades installed (ProVoice, DMR and NXDN) and it has a starting bid of $599.00 or a Buy It Now price of $800.00.

There are currently 0 bids with 6 days and 21 hours remaining: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Uniden-SDS...ADES-INSTALLED-ProVoice-DMR-NXDN/312165439726

yea i seen NO bids yet at that price lol

Actually the SDS100 that is listed for $953.48 is a Buy It Now price so there are no bids involved: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Uniden-SDS100-True-I-Q-RadioScanner-/173369312370

The other SDS100 that has a starting bid of $599.00 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Uniden-SDS...ADES-INSTALLED-ProVoice-DMR-NXDN/312165439726) might end up being a good deal depending on what it actually sells for at the end of the auction. It includes the 3 upgrades and they are worth an additional $170 ($50 for ProVoice, $60 for DMR and $60 for NXDN) even if purchased directly from Uniden.

wounder WHY no REAL pics was used?

This is a common occurrence on ebay, and seems to be more prevalent with items that appear vastly overpriced. In all likelihood, the seller doesn't maintain an actual stock, but simply places your order with another retailer for direct shipment to you. He's serving as a middleman, who hopes to profit off his customer's ignorance. He doesn't have to sell many at that price to make a good profit.

FYI this SDS100 with all 3 upgrades installed already sold for the $800 Buy It Now price. It never even had a chance to go through the eBay auction process!

I get 5% cash back on all Amazon purchases, and free Prime shipping, so I will wait for them to begin selling it. I also don't want to deal with all the "early adopter" nonsense. I will let everyone else do the testing for me.

I bought mine from a no tax company. I also have Amazon 5% back but when you save 5% you spend 8% in tax.

Amazon destroys small specialty retailers such as those who sell and actually support scanners. Our intent is to support those specialty retailers.

I agree with you, I try and buy from the small guy anymore, not Amazon.

I was referring to Bearcat Warehouse as they were the extreme example.

But I did notice something on the Hamstation page... "Also we are charging your credit cards now as this help with no delays in shipping." I know this is a big no-no according to Visa, and may also be an issue with MasterCard and Amex.

From the Card Acceptance Guidelines for Visa Merchants: "Deliver the merchandise or services to the cardholder at the time of the transaction. Cardholders expect immediate delivery of goods and services unless other delivery arrangements have been made. For card-absent transactions, cardholders should be informed of delivery method and tentative delivery date. Transactions cannot be deposited until goods have been shipped or services received."

It's stuff like this that harms relationships between customers and small businesses. Don't blame big retailers like Amazon and the like just because they have their shhhhhh together and can follow the rules.

Its issues like this with these small shops that I avoid them, poor service, late shipping, shipping returns as new, then they charge 15% restocking fee if the unit fails to work in your environment.

There is a reason Amazon has grown, because people got tired of games and wanted a reliable vendor of goods and services.

Yes the proof is in the pudding. This is why Amazon stock is up to 1760.00 a share. They don't care about returns. Its all the cost of doing business. You make billions of dollars a year and then you lose 1 billion to loss. Its still a gain. Its a very easy concept. But Amazon does have very deep pockets and I get it. They are are big corporation and small business can't compete. This is why small stores and retailers are failing at the malls now. These places are going out of business.
