Just talking this out: my hunch was the screen but removing the SD card totally eliminates the noise but the screen is on. So that connection is fine. The front headphone jack is fine. With the SD card in, the speaker and rear jack have the noise. But establishing a connection between the top plate and the metal housing on the screen reduces the noise. The processor is connected to the screen.

Now we are getting somewhere. Thanks Badboy536!
love to see you figure this out, then like being an alcoholic, the next step is to get uniden to admit there is a problem. lol.

Volume control has nothing to do with the processor noise coming from the speaker. It has no effect.
TBH, I don't hear any noise in the recording. YouTube volume set to max, and pc speakers set to max. I have however, heard the "noise" from my own SDS200, and awaiting a way to address the issue from the manufacturer - do they want us to call and submit a ticket? Send the rado for repair? We just need guidance at this point.

Basically, your complaint about the noise does not exist to Uniden unless to call and file a ticket.

You won't hear the noise through headphones - only through the internal speakers or off the external speaker jack.

You clearly aren’t understanding what he did. He turned the volume up on his speakers listening to the video to hear the sound and can’t hear it through the video

Uniden support used headphones to listen to the video and heard nothing

If a problem is present I do not think a recording or a video on a computer file is a good medium to present it to a technician or the Uniden representatives. The unit needs to be sent in to Uniden be analyzed and inspected. I didn't hear any noise at all in the recording. It's just not the way you want them to see it. If there is, indeed, a problem that you want to be seen, you want your radio in someone's hands.

Just like any other manufacturer. That's how it's done. I had a defective LG flat screen. What could they do over the phone? What does anyone expect from noting your complaint in a public message forum? Send 'er in and git r' done.

One other thing I noticed to is I use regular earbuds which work absolutely fine on all of my other scanner Uniden radios including the BCT15X and the BCD996P2 and the BCD536HP. Now on the SDS-200 I am hearing a lot of noise or white noise which I have to turn up the volume more for the conversation to override the white noise which is very annoying. Very dis-appointed on this radio. Just another thorn in my side again.

Believe it or not here is what I did to stem the hum noise.

I took square post it notes 6 sheets thick
covered the speaker on the bottom of the scanner.

https://www.amazon.com/Post-America...k+notes&qid=1550074558&s=gateway&sr=8-6-spell

The hum can no longer be heard and the audio is
still clear.

Not the answer for the external speaker jack but
at least I dont hear that annoying hum.

UPDATE : I substituted cloth shelf liner for the above .
https://www.amazon.com/Liner-Non-Ad...w+liner&qid=1550251518&s=gateway&sr=8-22&th=1

I placed four sheets cut down to the size of the speaker and placed it between the
bottom of the scanner and the mounting bracket.
used a usb stick wedged in there to keep it in place.

hopefully Uniden will find a real cure .

I guess I got a bad unit, try as hard as I may I’m not hearing any noises other than the received transmissions.
