Thanks for all the info guys. The G4 pager came yesterday morning and I've been playing with it. It makes me not even want to screw around with the Uniden anymore despite its serious limitations as a scanning device.
The secondary band (VHF) on my G5 is pretty sensitive, basically matching a VHF MTS2000 test unit on NOAA and Trolley Secory F5! That was suprising. Will work well on wildfires
