I live in Cobb County, GA which is on a P25 Regional Radio System. I have an SDS 100. I have Cobb Fire, Police, Sheriff, EMS & Emergency Services (Special Events) programmed in. I can scan Fire & Sheriff without a problem. But when I try to scan PD, EMS or Emergency Services it says Unknown under Simulcast display & No Stored TGID under TGID Display. Can anyone help me fix this?

I suggest clicking "Report" in the bottom left of your original post, asking the mods in the pop-up window, to move this to the Georgia sub forum. Likely this is not an issue with the device, but the system you are trying to recieve in your region.

its more than likely they are encrypted so you wont hear anything on those talk groups but i could be wrong.
If talkgroups were encrypted, the scanner would just skip over them. It sounds like there are no talkgroups programmed in those departments. Do you have all of the agencies programmed in one system in one favorites list? They should be. System should be in ID Scan. If you attach your favorites list, I will check it for errors. Go to the File tab in Sentinel and click on Export to hpe file (Favorites List). You will need to zip the exported file to be able to attach it. Click on Attach files and open the zipped file.

Switch the radio to ID search and see if that helps, Press Function "E."
To me, it sounds like the OP may have the talkgroups setup in two separate systems or favorites lists and the second favorites list or system is missing talkgroups. It's hard to say what the problem is without looking at the favorites list or lists.

Did you create your Favorites list by manually entering the information in Sentinel? Or did you append the system from Sentinel's database to a Favorites list. If appended, did you edit (or delete) one or more sites?

Either that, or perhaps the system only has the talkgroups, no sites. As you already noted, taking a look at the Favorites list would be the best way to determine what is wrong,

I am the person who started this topic. A few hours later I could not log back in & had to register with Radio Reference a second time. I have one Favorites List with everything in it. I appended everything via Sentinel. Police are not encrypted att. I am able to listed to Cobb County PD and all the City PD's in the County no problem if I hold the TGID's, but scanning them does not work.

It appears that you have a problem with your sites.

I'm not sure how this happened, if you appended directly from the database. But your sites are incorrect. For the site you labeled as Cobb County, you have frequencies from several other sites on the system in the Cobb site. The first frequency, in your Cobb County, 851.1625, is actually a control channel frequency for the Jail Intellirepeater. Another frequency, in that site, is not from Cobb County, but is part of the Douglas County site. Frequency 855.0875, which you show in a site named Mableton, actually should be in the Cobb County Simulcast site. I find no site in your specific area named "Mableton". And for the site you named Atlanta, I'm not seeing several of those frequencies in the trunked systems in your county nor Fulton County.

The attached *.hpe file has the corrected sites, from the database, in a system labeled 'Cobb County P25 a'. Also in that file is the complete Cobb County file as it is shown in the database. If you want, set the full Cob County file to Avoid & see what you hear on the talkgroups from your original file, with corrected sites. Some of those sites, from counties other than Cobb, might either be out of range, or of no interest to you. Set them as Avoid or delete them once you're sure you are hearing what you are actually wanting to hear.

Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth, Paulding & Polk Counties piggybacked onto Cobb's System a within the last 2-3 years. I deleted the file & appended it again and it is scanning. Thank you for the assistance. I will give an update after I have appended all the PD's.
