@UPMan - sort of related to status, but what's the status on warranty swap-out radios? Will you contact us when they arrive and is there an estimated timeframe? Also, do I need to fill out any paperwork to get on the list or have you already got one going? I've been going through Jeff as an intermediary but probably better to go straight to the proverbial horse to figure out what exactly to do.

Thanks!

Webtron-x has one less now, just ordered my second SDS100 from them.

I see someone is selling their "1 week old" SDS100 as brand new for $625 on eBay. I guess it was too hard to program correctly. At least he didn't return it and stick the vendor with an open box.

The SDS100 be here tomorrow, amazing how Ebay hides the completed auctions that have lower prices then the "trending prices" that they post, the auction was completed using "Best Offer"

If anyone is looking to purchase an SDS100, it's not difficult at all right now. As of 22:45 EDT on July 9th the following vendors/dealers are currently listing the SDS100 as being in-stock on their websites:

Universal Radio
Scanner Master
Zip Scanners
Bearcat Warehouse
The Ham Station
Ham Radio Outlet (stock at 3 of their 13 stores)
FactoryOutletStore.com (price is $669.99)
webtron-x.com (direct on their own website and also on eBay and Amazon)

Good deal. At least those that prefer to purchase on Amazon (to use points, etc.) currently have that option by purchasing their SDS100 from webtron-x on Amazon for $649.99 with FREE shipping included: https://www.amazon.com/Uniden-SDS100-Digital-Handheld-Scanner/dp/B07DL6LJ5G

BTW here's something interesting that is on the webtron-x product page for the SDS100 on Amazon: "Get $10 off instantly: Pay $639.99 upon approval for the Amazon Prime Store Card." I wonder how that flies with the "minimum allowed price" of $649.99?

My guess is the rebate is from Amazon, not the retailer. I'm not a MAP fan by any stretch.

That's just a promo discount from Amazon, if you apply and are approved for an Amazon labeled credit card. A similar promo from Amazon is $40 'off' if you apply & get a slightly different Amazon card. I see both at one time or another, either on the product page, or at checkout.

Just curious everyone I see a lot people getting the new SSS100. Are the scanners there shipping now come with the larger battery? Also do they come through with the latest firmware, or should you go to Sentinal and just check yourself?

I'd always check the firmware, no word on the new batteries

Not yet, but if you get a scanner from the first batch with the small battery, you'll end up with two batteries--the small one that came with the scanner, and the larger one Uniden ships later for free (if you register the scanner with Uniden so they have your address).

Also do they come through with the latest firmware, or should you go to Sentinal and just check yourself?

No, you should check for updates first thing. Uniden can't update the firmware after the scanner is boxed up and shipped from the factory, and it's common for firmware updates to be released between being shipped from the factory and being purchased by the end user.

As an addendum to my post #43 above, in addition to selling the SDS100 direct to consumers from their own website, webtron-x is also selling the SDS100 on eBay and on Amazon. The price is the same $649.99 with FREE shipping included on all 3 selling platforms.

Direct from webtron-x.com ("In stock"): Uniden SDS100 True I/Q Handheld Digital Police Scanner

webtron-x on eBay ("More than 10 available"): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Uniden-SDS...canner-Trunking-SDR-APCO-P25-DMR/123177397896

webtron-x on Amazon ("In Stock"): https://www.amazon.com/Uniden-SDS100-Digital-Handheld-Scanner/dp/B07DL6LJ5G

The Amazon link now says it is being sold by iSave and for $700.

If I buy a used 100 on ebay:
1. Does the factory warranty apply to the second owner?
2. If it was registered, how do I get the updated battery?

1. Does the factory warranty apply to the second owner?

From the SDS100 manual:

ELEMENTS OF WARRANTY: Uniden warrants, for one year, to the original retail owner, this Uniden Product to be free from defects in materials and craftsmanship with only the limitations or exclusions set out below.
WARRANTY DURATION: This warranty to the original user shall terminate and be of no further effect 12 months after the date of original retail sale.

Looks like it makes no sense to buy a used one that has been registered. If not registered I imagine there is no problem if the second owner registered it, no way for anyone to know.

The Amazon link now says it is being sold by iSave and for $700.

That's because webtron-x is out-of-stock on all 3 selling platforms and the Amazon link for the SDS100 is defaulting to another seller (in this case "iSave") who currently has stock as it says "Only 4 left in stock - order soon."

Should say 3 now in stock as I purchased 1 of the 4

hydro12943 it's too bad that you purchased your SDS100 from iSave on Amazon for $699.99. You could have saved $50 as there are currently reputable dealers who have the SDS100 in stock and are selling it for $649.99 with FREE shipping included.

One specific example would be Scanner Master who has the SDS100 currently listed as "In Stock" and is selling it for $649.99 with FREE shipping included: Uniden Bearcat SDS100 Police Scanner | ScannerMaster.com
