Take the advice being offered to you so you can get listening to your scanner..

If you have a PC, and have installed Sentinel on it, then read the scanner into Sentinel, if you have not already done so. That will preserve a copy of whatever ScannerMaster programmed.

In Sentinel. click on the drop-down File menu & select "Export to hpe file (Favorites list).

Select any and all Favorites lists then proceed with the export.
Save the file created to a location on your PC that you can get to.
Open Windows Explorer (called File Explorer on Windows 10)
Find your exported file, then <Right><Click> on it.
Right click on your exported file & choose Compress to ZIP file. (On earlier versions, you may see, instead, an option for "Send To". When you select that, you'll see an option to send the file to a compressed (zipped) folder.)
Once you have exported & zipped the file, then you can attached the zipped file to a post.
Once posted, then we can take a look & see what, if anything, may be missing.
Sends me your file ill fix it!

The Newark talkgroups are only carried on the West Orange or Union County simulcast cells. If you're not scanning either of those two sites, then you're not going to hear Newark FD.

Since you're in Bergenfield, you're probably only receiving the Passaic County cell or the Alpine site. Neither carry Newark FD.

Very highly unlikely you’re going to hear any/most traffic from Newark in Bergenfield. Newark FD radios don’t normally affiliate to either of the NJICS sites near you.

Was picking them up but not good on the bcd996p2
When was that, exactly? Months ago? The Garrett Mountain site in Passaic County used to be part of the West Orange cell until it switched over to the Passaic Cell last year, so the time frame of when you last heard them is important.

"Yes" what? Be more specific, your posts are too vague for anyone to provide any real help. When was the last time you heard Newark FD from home on your 996P2? And were you by chance scanning the West Orange site back then?

If "yes" means it's been months, and "yes" you were scanning West Orange...then my posts explain your issue. It's unlikely you'll be able to receive the West Orange cell anymore now that Garrett Mountain is no longer a subsite, and therefore unlikely that you'll hear Newark FD anymore.

You can listen to them online using Broadcastify Calls.

Move closer to Newark?

Seriously though, from Bergenfield it's unlikely that you'll be able to pull in the West Orange or Union County cells reliably. Maybe with a high gain Yagi pointing south if you're at good elevation...maybe.

Like I said, listen to Newark FD online and use the SDS200 to listen to all the activity on the Passaic County cell.

If you bought the SDS200 only to listen to Newark FD...sure, I suppose it was a waste of money. But it's a good scanner, so overall no it's not a waste of money. Do you not listen to anything on the Passaic cell?

Do not have passic county in the radio
There’s no reason you could not add Passaic to the scanner’s programming.

For that matter, you never addressed the question of exactly what ScannerMaster programmed for you. While you might not be able to get Newark, there’s likely a number of systems that you would be able to monitor.
