here is what I'm using
851.4250
851.5875
852.0625
867.4375
867.4625
868.1125
868.5375
868.7875
I added those 1st 4 freqs onto the old freqs, the rest were duplicates. Now I get everything as usual, thank you for posting them. Looks like at this point it's just a matter of control channel. I'll ride that wave.

did you use both the old and the new band plan systems or just the new band plan with all the old frequencies?

If you have the new control channel programmed, and the custom band plan entered (linked above), you should pick up the system fine. I'm picking up normal traffic, and the frequencies are the same as they were this morning. Radiobern posted excellent instructions for the people who are having trouble.

I've been meaning to tell you about that. Because they're still using a significant number of 866-868 MHz frequencies, your scanner will continue to pick up transmissions on those frequencies, as long as you have the new control channel programmed. However, as they begin replacing all of the frequencies with the 851-853 MHz ones, you will start to miss transmissions on those rebanded frequencies.

I have some more information for you, now that I've had a chance to refresh my memory. Your BC785D will pick up any rebanded frequency ending in 5 (i.e. 85#.###5). It will not pick up any rebanded frequency ending in 0 (i.e. 85#.###0). Because there are no rebanded frequencies ending in 0 on the system yet, you should indeed be tracking the system normally at the moment.

And yes, 851.4250 does fall into this category, but it doesn't matter because it's the control channel. The scanner relies on your programming to find it.

This switchover will take a week with a couple of frequencies being swapped from old to new rebanded frequencies each day.

okay...i guess i should have stayed with advanced algebra and trig...but I didn't. i have read all the posts...gone to the mapping and banding stuff...understand the concept...but don't have a clue how to program since i always used the automated Radio Ref. program with the ARC XT program to do all the work for me....Does anyone know if Radio Reference will update the "automated" program anytime soon? Or can someone take the time to help out a mathmatically challenged jester over here trying to program a BCD996XT and a 396T...frustrated and soundless in SF... :)

First you need to add the new frequencies listed here: http://forums.radioreference.com/sa...ussion/228522-sf-rebanding-3.html#post1757400

For the BCD396T: Menu > Program System > (select SF) > Set Frequencies
For the BCD996XT: Menu > Program System > (select SF) > Edit Site > (select CERS) > Set Frequencies

Then you need to enter the custom band plan available here: EditBandPlan < UnidenMan4 < TWiki

For the BCD396T: Menu > Program System > (select SF) > Edit Sys Option > Edit Band Plan
For the BCD996XT: Menu > Program System > (select SF) > Edit Site > (select CERS) > Edit Band Plan

Note that the BCD396T will only have the Edit Band Plan option if you have firmware 3.00.00 or later.

Your master site
Since this is a SZ system the system will announce the alternate control channels in the CC stream. Isn't there anyone in range who can run software on the CC?

And I updated the DB to reflect the system as Rebanded (so downloads will program your scanner properly) along with adding the submissions. Thanks.

Hi Wayne, I just made another submission regarding the Site 002 control channels. For everyone else, a summary of the current frequencies:

CERS (Citywide Emergency Radio System)

851.4250 - control channel
851.5875
852.0625
867.4375
867.4625
868.1125
868.5375
868.7875

PWRS (Public Works Radio System)

851.2500
851.6125
851.7625
852.2125
852.3625
852.6750
852.8625 - control channel
856.2375

ok, well. i've programmed everything, every which way, including the new RR import. Works sometimes, other times doesn't, sporatic. I have 100% reception/power on the control channel, for CERS, shouldn't i also be getting the talkgroups then? Ive listened to SF fire for a long time now, and know that its way busier than what im currently hearing. I hear on scene reports, but not dispatches. ive got every talkgroup for SFFD entered. what is the deal here? anybody got any ideas?

re: transmitters

FYI: the power output on the transmitters and been turned down to less than 25 watts

it seems like they have turned it back up again or something, going from next to nothing, to less than 17 seconds between transmissions on the CERS system. hopefully they keep it that way.
