852.0625
852.3875 - new
853.4125 - new
853.8875 - new
867.4375
867.4625
868.1125
868.5375
868.7875

PWRS (Public Works Radio System)

851.2500
851.6125
851.7625
852.2125
852.3625
852.6750
852.8625
853.2500 - control channel (new)
856.2375

Does anyone know if SFFD has a backup radio system? I know PD has low band radios, and if they're using them it may explain the reduced 800 MHz traffic some folks are reporting.

SFPD Lowband

In theory those old Lowband radios are supposed to work as backup radios when the whole trunked system crashes, but I'm told half of them don't even work anymore. The good thing is they will work car to car and station to car without the use of a repeater...

Since this is a SZ system the system will announce the alternate control channels in the CC stream. Isn't there anyone in range who can run software on the CC?

And I updated the DB to reflect the system as Rebanded (so downloads will program your scanner properly) along with adding the submissions. Thanks.

I ran UniTrunker on my PSR-500 and it was reading LCN 445 or 851.15 as an alternate control channel frequency. It was also listing LCN 638 or 866.9625 as another alternative. I assume this one will go away once rebanding is complete.

For the PWRS system, LCN 74 or 852.8625, LCN 112 or 853.8125, and LCN 529 or 853.25. The current control channel is LCN 54 or 852.3625.

The system seems to run fine on my PSR-500, transmissions crackle just as much as before and seem just as frequent. I hope they finish rebanding soon, then I won't have to deal with a fairly strong birdie I have on 867.225.

Hello Bernard
I too have a problem with 867.225 on my PCR2500. My GRE-500 does not have this issue. Hope all is well.

i took the other guys's advice, if you are using arc xt-pro. in the site browser, open the site up, click on the cers system, go to the general tab, below the control channel only tab, click on mot band plan, choose custom. then below click "edit mot bandplan" box 1 lower=851.0250 , box 2 lower=851.0125 , box 1 upper=854.0000 box2 upper =868.9875 , set steps on both to 25, box 1 offset=440, box 2 offset =0 then hit ok, just put the 851.4250 in the truck frequencies box, upload to scanner, should be it. if you have the talkgroups already imported.

Im trying this on my BCD996t and I just keep getting an error message

Error creating new site no resources available

I have already reset the scanner and when I start the RS232 set up it says it found it but after the error message and I shut the window it tells me the port is in use by another program.??

Wesley.. long time no talk to man. its Paul from Ameriscan. Hey, you likely havent updated your 996t's firmware or something to be able to program the rebanded systems.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzz... everything is quiet... I've heard something come across a couple times in past 10 minutes.... Looking at scanner and everything looks normal.

My scanner seems to work a little better after putting in the extra frequencies mentioned above. Before that, the scanner was missing half the calls.

O the question on a SFFD backup radio system? They can use the Conventional Radio Interoperability Channels which is in the "C" bank on their radios.

Hmm...I wonder what they're using when 800 MHz is silent. Has anybody heard anything on the SFPD low band frequencies? See link below:

im wondering the same thing about SFFD on the 800mhz, what the heck is going on. works crazy good most of the day, then goes totally silent for 10-15 min blocks sometimes. i know its not a programming error, because when it works, it works perfect, and im well within range to pick these things up.

Next time the 800 MHz system goes quiet, try the SFPD lowband frequencies. SFFD is more perplexing because they don't really have a backup system. The only thing I can think of is maybe the 8CALL/8TAC frequencies or CAFIRE1/2.

CERS control channel is on 851.1500. PWRS control channel is on 853.8125.

did it just change again?
also just picked up 852.2125 using that new CERS control channel. Way to stay on top of things Mlangeveld , thank you

Since you have the 996, you should try downloading Trunker and monitor the control channel data. It gives you all the freqs in use, as well as alternate control channels. takes the guess work out.
