There might be. I think it requires iOS 7 or higher, but don't quote me on that.

I tried installing Siren on a first generation iPad (not jail-broken) and it did *not* allow me to. Indeed it requires iOS 7 or higher. Voyager is correct.

Same issue

I get audio from headphones just nothing from speaker.

Everything is updated, firmware wise. I plugged in an external speaker to my iPad and I get audio - albeit somewhat delayed. Without the external speaker, the iPad produces no audio. The display portion works though.

Odd as it sounds, make sure the ringer is turned up on the iPad.

App works very intermittently for me. Will work for about 5 minutes fine, then I'll look down and is just stopped or hung on the last channel received. Closing then going back in May or may not work. Pretty poor performance.

Suggestions for fix welcome- anyone else have the intermittent issue?

All software/firmware/iOS is up to date.

Poor signal to the access point from the device? From the scanner?

anyone else have issues with scanner that is powered on and never shut off the siren app will eventually fail to connect then a reboot of scanner fixes it all?

I haven't seen that happen either in Access Point or Infrastructure. Some times the App hangs up and has to be either cleared via the iPhone home button, or going through the connect process.

Has anyone found a way in the Siren app to force the 536 to resume scanning? Like when it's stopped on a boring broadcast and you want the scanner to move along, but you don't want to actually avoid that channel. I've tried everything I could think of but haven't found a solution.

Thanks!

If you press on the channel area twice it should work (it causes a hold then a release). This also works on the HomePatrol-1 scanner.

Yeah, you'd think that would work but it doesn't. Its not worked for me with Siren anyway.

.

I get it to work with Siren on both my iPad and iPhone. You need to give it about a half a second between presses. Also it usually takes about a second to hear the beeps and see the response, so don't rush it.

I think this issue is really more about the radio than it is about the app. I've only had my 536 for a week, so I'll admit I'm far from having it all figured out. But what seems to happen with the 536 when I hit channel hold twice is the radio first looks elsewhere for activity within that same system it was stuck on. It doesn't move on to the next system first, or the next favorites list, it looks within that same system that has the boring broadcast that I want to skip past. If it finds another active channel within that system it will stop there. And that's fine I guess. But if there is no other active channel the radio comes right back to the boring channel. So I think this is my problem with the Siren app. Sometimes it moves along after a double press of channel hold, but more often than not it comes right back to the channel I don't want at the moment. The audio delay with Siren makes it harder to get a sense of what's really happening, but I believe that's the problem. On the radio I usually just twist the VFO knob when I want it to resume scanning. That seems to be more effective, and I'm not bothered by the change in scan direction. But the app doesn't have that option obviously. Kinda frustrating.

One feature I really hope Uniden can add to Siren is the ability to re-boot the radio from the app. The ability to clear all temporary avoids easily would be a huge help in operating the radio remotely.
