You can swipe left to right on channels and the best bug fix is the app will play Audio in the back ground. Great job Uniden and Upman

Boom just noticed the update - the audio fix was the largest bug fix this is awesome finally a working app!

Only funny thing - you now can't stop the audio feed ! Haha funny problems but this problem is better to have for now anyway - more useable.

Yea, they got some major bugs worked out.....................................

Unfortunately not all. I still can't get Siren to properly apply Quick Keys above 9:

When I apply Quick Key 50 expecting to enable/disable FL50, it changes the status of FL5.
When I apply Quick Key 11 expecting to enable/disable FL11, it changes the status of FL1.

Clearly it is only applying the first digit in the Quick Key value. I suspect its something related to the shortcut available through the scanner keypad to enter just one digit to change the status of the FL's 0-9, rather than requiring you to enter 01, 02, ... 09, as required for FL's 10 and above.

I also found it necessary to power-off my iPad to cause the Siren App to quit and release the Audio ports used by the 536 dongle so I could connect another application to the 536 (e.g., ProScan 8.*); the 536 dongle can only connect its audio stream to one use at a time.

The Siren App now sends all audio to my iPad's speaker even if I have a Bluetooth speaker connected. I double checked all my other apps and they send the audio out though the Bluetooth speaker. Hmmm this may allow me to listen to music/radio through the Bluetooth speaker AND be able to listen to the breaking news from my BCD536 via the iPads built-in speaker.

The "keep the audio alive" is a good thing and I'm real happy about that. Also it appears an improvement has been made in earphone volumer, which I'm even happier about. Now I can listen to the scanner while cutting grass alleviating boredom.

I've noticed something, which may be a normal situation. If it is, please advise. That being if two devices are connected to the scanner via Infrastructure, the audio goes only to the first connected device.

Another thing is that ome times when I plug in earphones the audio still wants to go to the iPhone speaker. I have to unplug and re-plug the earphones. Here is the wild part: I had Siren running on my iPhone, going to the earphones okay. I started Siren simultaneously on an iPad and the audio on the iPhone earphones started coming out of the iPhone speaker. The iPhone wasn't touched - it just "did it". I thought that was strange.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll spend a little time observing the updated app in Access Point in my vehicle to see if previously noted issues have been corrected.

One other thing: I'd really like to see Unit IDs be displayed where applicable.

Spent a little time with the updated App in Access Point for my vehicle scanner. Some observations:

1. Will reconnect automatically after scanner shutdown when using an iPhone 5.

2. Will NOT reconnect automatically after scanner shutdown when using an iPhone 4. Still have to go through the "Settings>Connection" process to get Siren going again.

Perhaps this is due to the different operating systems of the iPhone 4/iPhone 5.

3. Not seeing the occasional "Sig: Null" message thus far.

On Infrastructure, the first device connecting Siren to the scanner gets the audio. However in Access Point, the last device connecting Siren to the scanner gets the audio - second device seems to "knock off" audio to the first. Not an issue, just a point of information. Audio stills comes out of the scanner's external speaker, regardless.

Upman: I can't see how Siren would affect this, rather just FYI - still have the very infrequent situation of the scanner not turning AP back on. As noted, it will eventually return.

Nah just double tap home button on phone and swipe the app to shut it down.

Also make sure you check the app FAQ section on how to setup your phone so your LTE/4G still works when connected to your scanner. Otherwise most of your phone apps will only try connecting to the scanner and not your cell service.

Good idea! So where can a guy find this FAQ? I'm not finding it in the app itself, and no dice at Apple's page for the app or at Uniden's site either.

Also, is this problem limited to one mode or the other (Access vs. Infrastructure)?

Thanks!

Got a chance to check it out more. It will not stream thorough Bluetooth on my car. It cuts the audio down to nothing from my iPhone speaker. It worked great before using Bluetooth.

I have the app working using my RT-AC66U Asus router using VPN than connecting to V P N using PPT on my iPhone 6. No need for wifi now.

I can not get the updated Siren app to send audio to my Bluetooth speaker either. Music app, YouTube, & everything else plays fine thru the Bluetooth. I even tried a wired connection between the phone and speaker using the headphone jack. No dice. This is bad news as my phone is useless for sound because of the case it's in. The Siren app worked great with Bluetooth before the update. Now I can't go back. Not a happy camper.

Yea this isn't good for anyone who uses bluetooth to stream this app. I hope that Uniden has a fix for this very soon. :(

I removed the old app to resolve the Bluetooth audio problem. Remember to not update your app on iTunes on your computer or your iPhone until this bug is resolved. Below is how the to revert back to the old app. I hope it works for you.
1. Delete the app from your iPhone.
2. Connect your iPhone to the computer and open iTunes.
3. Do not update your apps in iTunes. Back up and sync your iPhone using iTunes.
4. When the sync is complete, click your iPhone in the left iTunes menu under DEVICES. Click the Apps tab at the top of the iTunes window. Find the app you wish to downgrade under Sync Apps.
5. Make sure the box is checked next to the app you wish to downgrade. Click the Apply button.
6. The old version of the application will be copied from your computer to the iPhone.

If you have already updated the application on your computer, or synced your iPhone before deleting the new version of the app you must follow this step first. Open the trash can or recycling bin and look for the older app version (this file will end with the suffix .ipa).

Drag the old app file into the iTunes window. iTunes will ask if you want to replace the app with an older version. Confirm and begin from step one above. If the old version is not in your trash can you cannot access the older version of the app.

What version of iTunes are you using for this roll back? I'm not having any luck with this so far with vers 12.1.2.27.

Thanks
