Raleigh Co Sheriff's Dept

Charleston and Kanawha county have been very active every day and night and I even heard a Fayette County talkgroup briefly as well a couple of nights ago. Kanawha county sheriffs would be a welcome addition if they are gonna be full time as wel

Hey Bert

Keep an eye out for the Raleigh Co Sheriff's Dept on SIRN. They may be getting ready to make the switch within the next couple weeks:)

Kanawha Co

Looks like Kanawha Co is moving forward with the transition to SIRN. Only a few more agencies there to make the switch hopefully in the near future:)

Yes Chad, The ones that are still using VHF have a TG they use when out far away. Surprised me when I seen the Sheriffs doing simulcast today. They are not doing it right now, so maybe they were testing it today.

Last night I thought the switch had already taken place. I wasn't hearing anything on their legacy system but when I brought up your feed they were still on 155.625. Shouldn't be long, though:)

Caught 6733(I think that's KRT?) and surprised I got BraxtonCo 911(6929) not long after I got home(nice to feel warm under the covers after a day out delivering mail).

Man it's been awful quiet in here for awhile, must be nothing going on or any new talkgroups to talk about,at least I am able to participate in listening in my scanner for a good bit now...

Bert,

Cross Lanes has no city government, they are not incorporated, They have tried too, but the residents keep voting it down.

MCMD5-

I don't believe the BC250D will work on SIRN... it's an APCO-25 Common Air Interface Exclusive system which requires a 9600 baud capable scanner, i.e., BC796D or the handheld version BD296D. My 796 works just fine on SIRN, but I use my 250 mainly for conventional freqs and the occasional analog TRS system--it still works fine for that. You can still monitor the Jefferson Co. VHF Fire freqs and patches.

Hope that helps,

SIRN Construction Notifications - Pendleton Co

Two Construction Notifications were filed by SIRN to the FCC recently for the following sites:

1-xxx Brushy Run (Cave Mountain)
1-xxx Circleville (Hunting Ground)

The Construction Notification "suggests" that the site has been built out; however, that does not mean the site is active. One or both of the sites may be active or may become active in the near future.

Those living in the above general areas should be on the lookout for newly active SIRN sites in those locations.

Wiki Info for the above two sites (ignore the 900x site numbers)

Be on the lookout for active control channels at those two locations based upon the frequencies listed in the Wiki. Additionally, they could potentially come online using control channels in the 454-455 mhz range, so it would make sense to also periodically scan that area for a potential new site as well.

If you happen to discover a new site online, please post the info here and submit it to the DB as soon as possible so that others may benefit.

Thanks

Mike
