Hi all

Another dumb question! The above works fine on VHF/UHF but I'm picking up very little on HF. I suspect my antenna, A Moonraker SPX-100 rigged up indoors isn't helping and I'm going to put up a long wire when my wife is in a good mood, but in the interim, to rule out any other issues, I assume that the RF Gain is increased by turning the screw clockwise? Is there an "optimum setting" Also, I'm using a long usb cable and wondered if this might degrade the signal? Lastly, does running the laptop off the battery make any difference

Many thanks for your patience with a dullard!

I found the soft66rtl very poor on HF also. If your interested in HF I would suggest getting the Ham It Up converter. It works great for me. If you want to experiment try using it without the case. I had better reception when I removed the case.
