SDS100/SDS200: sorting favorites while scrolling in scanner

My favorites are sorted fine in Proscan or sentinel, and show up sorted in the scanner (sds100, sds200) in "set quick key status" or "select lists to monitor"... I sort by favorite list name (and use '[F1] first favorite' , '[F2] second favorite' , etc) . But... when scrolling through the favorites in the scanner itself, it does not follow that same sort. I see F1, F2, F3, F4, then F6, later F20, then back to F5, then F30, etc. Any idea how this is being sorted and how to control it so when I scroll from the last freq in F4 it goes to F5, not F6? I sort in sentinel, save, write to scanner (checking delete all favorites first), and they look fine in the scanners menu lists, but not in the scrolling.

ah, ok. Looks like create date is the major control here for my set. Any way to re set or sort that (saving the favorite list doesn't, sorting doesn't... maybe just have to start over and manually add to get that scan sort (with care setting quick keys) ?

Take your OCD meds and don't worry about the order ;)

With judicious assignment of FL and system quick keys you can exert some level of control over sequence, but not sure it's really worth the effort.

Hah, well, it's really not the ocd (much)... I sometimes want to just move from one highly used FL to a system in the next one up ( the lower numbers for me are most used), so instead of one twist or two to get from one to the next, I would have to do a heap of scrolling (when FL5 is after FL50!) , or use the quick keys to go direct (requiring some degree of memory!) Thanks tho.... appreciate the pointers.

I did that, it doesn't change the sort order on the scanner itself (create dates, etc)

Have you tried changing the Sort List for the Favorites in Sentinel? In the Edit tab, last choice at the botton.

yes, they sort fine there, and show up sorted in the several lists in the scanner, but not when scrolling through the systems on the scanner. JTWalker above pointed me to the manual page that says that scanning doesn't follow the favorite list order itself, several other factors, like create date of the entry, so likely that's the issue. I'll just get used to number tags to move about. Thanks...

I have all my systems prepended with their quick key. I have them all sorted by quick key. When I scroll thru, they are all in order. I always choose the Erase Fav lists option when writing back to the scanner.

I believe anything not enabled to scan does not show up when scrolling.

You should see everything in a favorite list, even the manual avoided records as well as the GPS avoided when you scroll. A database scroll would be different as that loads and unloads data by the location control.
