I have programed the NJSP, But still can't get any comunications for Medivac.
They fly out of Cooper into my area.
Burlington County.

Any help?
Thanks.

Only NorthSTAR is dispatched on REMCS 5 (155.2950 MHz, PL 85.4 Hz). SouthSTAR is dispatched on their talkgroup on the NJSP TRS. LZ (Landing Zone) Operations are on the South Jersey Fire-Net (Ocean County) or Fire-3/Fire-5 (Monmouth County).

Unless things have changed basic Northstar dispatch is simulcast on both the 155.295 frequency and the 26832 tg. One scanner in my listening post is always monitoring the Northstar/Southstar tgs exclusively and I've heard the Northstar dispatch come over both the tg and the VHF frequency simultaneously. The reason for the fly, and all the flight/lz details come over only on the tg, but the initial basic dispatch is simulcast.

Another tip if you enjoy monitoring EMS is to program the various EMS/Trauma tg's in your scanner. Often times you will hear inter-facility transfers being set up or 'heads up' calls being given to hospitals that one of the medi-vacs will be enroute to their facility. I've also heard 'heads up' calls being given from ALS units in the field via their dispatch that a medi-vac may be, or is, needed. The ALS dispatch agency will then contact the appropriate medi-vac dispatch.

Have fun monitoring! :D

stars in Monmouth County

I have never heard of the star's using Spen 4 in Monmouth county but it is usually

Mon Fire 3. 154.280 5z
Mon Fire 5 154.265 5z

It could also be Spen 4, I guess. They have came into RED BANK LOCAL. They also have the ability to dial into any frequency.

Both Northstar and Southstar have extensive, programmable, radio capabilities. They can easily get on the local yokel stations that are at the scene to confirm the LZ and conditions.

JMR3865: Thanks for the information. Is Fire-5 only used for Long Branch LZ Operations?

They also use EMS-3. I have talked to them on it before we had the SJ Fire-Net in our rigs.
