South Metro Fire Sq11 and Sq12

In PulsePoint I’ve noticed a few new units responding to calls throughout the South Metro fire district. They’re listed as Sq11 and Sq12. I’m assuming that is for Squad? Does anybody know about these? Sq12 seems to be running calls further east than a unit from station 12 would.

Yes, SQ in their CAD stands for Squad. From their social media, they are temporary units to handle the excess call volume related to the extreme cold weather from this past week. They roam the district and mostly self assign calls. They are not based at any one station or part of any normal response plan.

Thanks! I checked social media and didn’t see anything. Do you know if they were running full size engines or smaller units like the Med units?
