Site 100 shows:

935.325cc
935.875
936.325
936.850a

NAC 5A8

Hmmm - ok, I don't see that in the DB. What am I missing?

I guess what I was trying to say is that I have 936.825 entered into my PSR-800 as Site 1-100, since that was the CC given for 1-100 on the adjacent-site broadcasts from 1-089, 1-101 and 1-107. The fact that I was seeing '1-100' flash on my display meant it was tracking a CC on 936.825 (as that is how it is programmed at the moment).

Now, there were a few complications -

* unlike earlier GRE's, the PSR-800 doesn't dump CC info to the screen - no site, no tower, no NAC
* I forgot to dump the CC to SDRAM
* 1-100 was actually the only adjacent site tagged as being down in the broadcasts

In short, I'm not at all convinced that the site I was listening to identified itself as 1-100, hence the request for someone to take a look 8*)

Its not in the Db yet as its not been worked yet. I was just checking those frequencies per your inquiry. I'll get the Db updated with site-100 shortly.

Heard voice traffic on TG 12065, 12177 and 13199 on site-100 during my short monitoring.

Ah, ok. When you posted 'Site 100 shows:' the list didn't include a CC on 936.825, so I got it in my head that 1-100 must have been identified with another hilltop. No worries. Thanks for checking...

If the old TG map is still valid, those map to:

12065 (33040 - Ops 42, Santa Monica)
12177 (33232 - Ops 39, Ventura)
13199 (51184 - ???)

Hey guys,

I've added Oak Peak (Site 1-120) and Breckenridge (Site 1-136) to the database.

I don't have a Phase II capable scanner yet, any recommendations?

The conversion equation jlanfn posted earlier works perfectly. Type II Talkgroup = (P25P2 TG - 10000)*16.

The resulting talkgroups I get using that equation are consistent with the type II talkgroups that used to be on those sites.

I added site 106 to Db today also.

Now we really need to work on identifying locations of all the sites in LA region.

Also do we think its safe to copy/paste all talkgroups from the older system by applying the conversion?
While I think this might get us going, I would be very surprised if new TGs and some changes were also not introduced as part of the P25 system rollout.

I agree there might be new stuff, but by nature of the Motorola SmartX conversion process I think the old talkgroups must still exist on the new system since both are linked together in concurrent operation. So it's worth converting all the troublemen and substation categories for sure.

I've already got that in spreadsheet form - I can upload it here this evening if it will save anyone some work. 8*)

Yes sure you can attach it in a forum post or otherwise PM it over. Thanks

I'll work to get the Db updated in the coming week.

LAFlyer -

With regard to posting the old TG's under the new map, I think the potential advantages in using this as a starting point outweigh the risks. If someone notices that TGID #### doesn't match the description in the database, they're likely to submit a correction - the data will sort itself soon enough.

Wasn't something like that done for STRS for a while, where the map was ported over and something like 'tentative' was appended to the end of the description? Two downsides that I can think of - 1) if no one in the know ever checks in to say a tentative description is on the mark, that 'tentative' label will sit in the DB for a long time and 2) there's really no way to identify/weed out an old TG that isn't being used on the P25 system.

Ok - I dug out my spreadsheet. There's not much to it. The first column should be the P25 TG number, the second, the old TG number and the third, an abbreviated alpha tag.

Note that there is a duplicate TGID in the database (old:34768 new:12173), it is a duplicate in this file as well...

Picked up a BCD436HP a few days ago and have been logging SCE P25II in 'Discovery' mode for about 12 hours now - I am NOT hearing the same protocol that was heard on the old analog system.

Repairs can still be heard on the Substation talkgroups. Status updates (ticket status, unit status) are done on the Operations talkgroups. I even heard a fair amount of traffic from one of their copters on TG 13581 'Air Ops' this morning. However, the FSR talkgroups are quiet - dispatching and outage announcements are now done by MDC.

I will do a dump of the Discovery logs later tonight or tomorrow morning and post what the radio collected, looks like there's 24 hits.

Has anyone heard any traffic on District 61: Catalina? If so, any relevant conversations - island related repairs, status updates, etc.?

Spoke too soon, Catalina TG 12173 is active right now with repairs being done in an unknown area. Don't know if related but I see on the outage map planned maintenance repairs being done in Torrance.

On TG 12173 (Catalina FSR) I'm hearing DOC sending a crew to Montebello. Don't know where or what for, all that is now sent to the crews over Skype.

Can't tell if the 436HP is more sensitive than the 396XT on 900MHz or if they're still building out the SCE P25II system, but here in Santa Clarita they definitely seem to be using their talkaround channels more.
